Dotty

Hi Everyone.  Well, this is my second post for Sunday.  I hadn't realized that the CASology card challenge closes in 30 minutes!  So, I'm doing a quick post for both this and the simonsaysstamp EMBOSS IT challenge.

You can find my Paper Players card and the results of the blog candy challenge HERE

Here's the cue card for CASOLOGY

I knew immediately that I wanted to use the Decorative Dots embossing folder from SU and the sentiment was typed up in MDS.  I used the Tim Holtz embossing folder diffuser that I bought at SSS to ensure that I didn't emboss the area where the sentiment is.  As this is a clean and simple challenge, I decided to add no embellishments… consequently, the card could be used for either gender and it's a great card to put through the post!

I adhered the dotty layer to the Summer Starfruit and then  used double sided foam tape to adhere that layer to the card base.  I love using the rolls of double sided foam tape when I'm making a card like this.  Guarantees no "saggage" when the card goes through the post.  I know it feels extravagant, but I hate it when I spend time creating a card and then areas "sag" where there was nothing underneath those areas.  I usually use a ton of Stampin' Dimensionals, but have started to use the double sided tape for larger areas like this.

Here's my card!

Dotty about you

Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

  • Basic Black, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White
  • Sentiment:  typed in MDS and colored to match the card stock.  The joy of My Digital Studio!
  • Tools:  Big Shot.  Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  Tim Holtz Embossing Diffuser

Back tomorrow!

Hugs

Jaydee

  3. Wow….a “diffuser”? I am going to have to look into that because I can never remember how to do that technique the old-fashioned way! This is wonderful!!!
