Easy Events for Enchanted Makeovers and card drive updates

Hi Everyone.  Happy Thursday.

Firstly, continued thoughts and prayers for all those people who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy.  The devastation that has emerged is so hard to grasp and my hearts go out to those families who have lost loved ones and their homes.

During the last week or so, I have been busy trying to make cards for Enchanted Makeovers.  In case you missed my post on this particular card drive, or need a refresher on how you can help, you can check out the post here.  One lucky participant will win a place on one of Jennifer McGuire's onlinecardclasses.  This is a great prize, as you get to choose the card class that you want to attend.  I'm currently enrolled in the Holiday Card Workshop and it's fantastic.  We are only finished day 4, but I have already learned so many techniques and neat things to do with holiday cards.

So, if you would like the chance to win a free spot – as well as the SU candy that I am offering up, all you need to do is participate.  :-)  I've set myself a goal of 1000 cards… and could really do with some more help.

On that note, I would like to say a big thank you…. a HUGE THANK YOU… to Rosie, Judi and Pam who have already sent me their cards.  They are fabulous cards and I can't wait to share them with you…. and I know the recipients will love them, too!

You have until 11/23 to get cards in to me, so there is still time to let me know that you will be participating 🙂

I also wanted to give you an update on the OWH card drive.  400 cards winged their way to OWH this past week.  Once again, my blog readers came through and helped out with that card drive.  You guys rock!

Here's one of the cards that I made using the Easy Events set.  I paired it with the Nursery Nest DSP.  I don't normally make cards with this color scheme, but I thought it was perfect for a female card and, I have to admit, actually enjoyed playing with these colors!   I also couldn't help myself and had to get my gelly roller and some some sparkle.  Sadly, you can't see that… but I promise you it's all over the cupcake topping and on cake plate base!

I've also tried to stamp a little something for interest on the envelopes and on the inside of the cards.  For this one, I forgot to take a photo of that, but I stamped a couple of the birds from the Aviary set in Wisteria on both the left corner of the card, and the envelope.

I'm off to go and make some more cards, as I am WAAAAAAAY behind on the number of cards I need to make each day.  WAAAAAY behind.  What with work, and the fact that Lou is traveling every week, it's really tough to get the time in my stamp room that I need.

As always, thank you for stopping by my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  Warm hugs and prayers for those who need a lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. This is a fun card, Jaydee! Who doesn’t love a good cupcake?? ;o)
I need to kick my patootie into high gear and get going!
    Hugs!
    P.S. Hello, Lou!

  2. I love this card. Wisteria wonder is one of my favorite colors and you did it proud. The brad sets if off perfectly. Your choice of background paper enhances the overall beauty of the card. I do see the sparkle on the cupcake icing. Great job.
