Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
Firstly, thank you to all of you who left words of encouragement on my craftiness for yesterday's card. I really did appreciate it and y'all encouraged me to play around with some more 3D items!
I managed to play along with a couple of challenges today. The first challenge is from Freshly Made. It's a great sketch and I knew immediately that it was an ideal time to take out the Winter Frost Specialty DSP and ink up a carry-over Christmas set.
I putzed for about 45 minutes working on various arrangements of DSP and card base colors. I really couldn't make up my mind what to do. I went to get something from my crafting cupboard and found an old stack of metallic inks and one of them was a perfect match for the Coastal Cabana card base….. so, I that decided my card direction 🙂
Here's my take on the sketch:
I had to do the focal image twice. I stamped the tree, let it dry and then stamped over it with normal black ink. Nah. Ah. That certainly didn't work. It really didn't work on the metallic ink ot the tree, so I had to re-do it and stamp the text with StazOn instead.
The Merry Christmas is from the Many Merry Messages, which is now retired. It might be retired, but it is a set I will always continue to use. :-) Of course, I couldn't let the card go without a little bit of bling in the form of three rhinestones. I was very pleased with the way the card turned out and will definitely be using this sketch again.
On a personal note:
The weather has been gorgeous. Coolish with low humidity. My kid of weather! However, as much as I REALLY don't want to say this….. like Terri said….. I don't want to think of Fall, but it certainly is feeling "fallish". I am SO NOT ready for Fall. I'm still really enjoying the weather, the garden, the birds and the sunshine!
Talking of birds – a quick photo to share with you tonight. The catbirds have thoroughly enjoyed their time at the jelly feeders this year.
I love the way he was echoing the bird on the top of the feeder :-) He couldn't make up his mind whether to ignore me and come in to eat, or wait until I had gone. Caution got the better of him and off he flew, back into the trees!
As always, thank you for visiting my little neck of the stamping blogosphere. Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Oh, what a stunning card Jaydee. Love the look of the layout as well as the softness of your card.
Oh, Bring on Fall. I’m really getting tired of this heat; over 100 deg. all this week coming :{ Yes, I’m ready for fall and much cooler temperatures…….Bring it on. :}
Enjoy your day.

Hi Jaydee!
We’re back from a whirlwind trip to the ‘burg to drop Lil off for “Lissie Camp”. I didn’t have my computer so I’m playing catch-up here.
This sketch is fun, and your card is just beautiful! I particularly like how you were careful with the DSP on the banners and the one looks like stars peeking from behind the other.
I’m a huge fan of black Staz-On as I can’t seem to keep from smudging the Classic Basic Black ink…:oS
We’ve had the most STUNNINGLY GORGEOUS weather for August! I’m talking low-mid 80’s and low humidity. It’s crazy and I’m loving every minute of it! :o)
Your catbird is absolutely delightful! I was laughing at my male goldfinch yesterday as he once again clung to the hanger on my hummer feeder and scootched himself down for a quick drink. I’ve *got* to get some sort of bird bath in next year…
Hugs!
P.S. Hi Lou! :o) I’m to do some painting this week and was thinking of you. ;o)
Such a pretty Christmas card. I too have some stamps that I will never get rid of. The Merry Christmas stamp is one of them.
Wow, Jaydee
I just want to tell you I have been following you for a while. This is my first comment. You are such an inspiration and I love reading your blog and about your garden-yard, landscaping, wildlife, etc. Thank you sooooo much for sharing with us.
