HI Everyone.
Happy Wednesday.
I have a quick post for you tonight. I decided to play along at the "Inspired by the LIttle Things" challenge – I love the photo – pity I missed the challenge cut off…. but I couldn't help but make a card!
Aren't thos stained glass feathers just gorgeous?
I pulled out my old Papertrey Ink Feather Finery and decided to go with a rainbow of colors for the feathers…. although I was really tempted to go with the turquoise and reds from the inspiration photo.
I had to find a way to incorporate the wonderful gold that is on the inspiration and found two ways to do that – one was in the detail on the feathers.
I also incorporated the gold embossing with the "happy" from the the Halftone Happy stamp from Altenew. I then used my stitched rectangle dies to cut out the panel and mounted it onto a piece of Neenah Solar White #110 card stock.
Here's my card:
I love the Altenew Label Love set. I stamped the "Happy Birthday" onto a piece of white cardstock and then cut off the "happy" and mounted the "birthday". I like the pop of black amongst all that color 🙂
On a personal note:
It was a gorgeous day here today. Not too warm. Not too cold. Not too wet! I have a couple of photos for you.
Let's take a look at who has been visiting the feeder:
I managed to capture the female Rosebreasted Grosbeak and the Female Red-winged Blackbird at the seed tray:
I love how brown and "plain" they are compared to their male counterparts. If you want to check out the males – you can find more details on them both here and here . They might be "plain" in comparison – but they are both beautiful with their amazing markings.
Our Iris were magnificent this year. They are spreading – albeit slowly – but we love being able to see them for a few weeks every year.
I'll be back in Friday with my Addicted to CAS card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Boy, was I gobsmacked to learn that in all my many years of rejoicing over the happy red-winged blackbirds in the ditches, I never knew that the females were ‘plain’. I don’t recall ever seeing one. I’ll have to watch for them. Thanks for my new-thing-for-the-day.
