Fine Feathers for Retrosketches

Hi Everyone.  Happy Monday.

I got to spend some time in my stamping space yesterday and play along with a couple of challenges.  My first card was created for retrosketches.

It's a cool sketch and I used it for two entirely different cards.  My first card was made using the Fine Feathers stamp set.  I really do love this stamp set, but am often stumped on how to use it.  I realized it makes a great background stamp, especially when you stamp in different colors.

As I am so longing for spring, I decided spring colors were in order.   Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron, Soft Sky and a little touch of Smoky Slate.

Here's my card:

Fine Feathers Retrosketches

These colors work really well together and really feel like fresh, spring bouquet of flowers. :-)  I cut a tag using heavyweight vellum and stamped "hello" using Versamark and then sprinkled it with Stampendous Lapis Superfine embossing powder.   I really do love the color of this embossing powder.   I finished off the tag with a little button and some silver thread.

To adhere the tag to the base of the card, I used some clear double sided tape that is hidden behind the button and a little strip on the vertical elements on the sentiment.  The double sided tape gives enough lift to get the tag off of the base, and the fact that it's clear, really helps to adhere the tag to the card without it showing through.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
