I have a quick post for you tonight. I saw this amazing challenge across at casestudy and couldn't help but play along. I seriously think that the must for this month, Agnieszka, is one of my favorites. Her style is clean and bold and I love it. The insipiration card this week, was no exception. She certainly is a talented young lady.
Here's my take on the card. I was inspired by the colors, the sentiment coming from the middle of the flower and the textured background. The texture was created not only by the spritzed color, but I decided to add a little more texture using a texturz plate.
I colored the flower with my Copics and used a mixture of Copics and my Stampin' Up! markers for the spritzed background. The stamp set is from Amuse and is called Floral Duets. I wish I had this flower as a digi stamp, as I would really like to be able to size it to make it smaller. I thought the button for the middle of the flower was a great way to add another color and also to anchor the sentiment.
On a personal note:
No boxes unpacked today, but we did manage to get some flowers for the pots at the front door – finally! We decided on some creeping black eyed Susan's. They are perfect for the pots and provide a gorgeous yellow tone. We also got our chairs for the front stoep today, and a little table. So, the front stoep is all set up now.
Tomorrow, the landscaper arrives to spade in 3 trees. I decided on trees that would provide food and/or shelter for the animals and to have them as native as I could get them. All three trees were grown here in Minnesota. We are planting a Juniperus Virginiana, an American Mountain Ash and a Norway Spruce. The Juniperus and the spruce should both provide food and housing over winter for some of the bird species. We can't wait to get them in.
Melissa, you asked about the furniture in my craft room. We bought the craft table at Pottery Barn. The tall cupboard, and the smaller cupboard in the closet, both came from Ikea. They all work really well together as they carry the same color. The inserts in my tall cupboard all came from Target. (As a reminder, you can see the post with the pics here.)
Doris, the color on the walls is really deceiving.. I know in some of the pics it looks yellow, but it's actually a cool shade of deep beige called Deer Path. It's interesting that every time I photograph it, it changes color!
Rosemary, you mentioned your Maine Coon. Bailey is a Norwegian Forest Cat – so very similar, they are just much smaller. Bailey looks like a big cat – and he is – but he only weighs in at 13#s. Which is considerably lighter than the average weight of the more muscular Maine Coon. The Maine Coons are also gorgeous cats.
Sally, you asked about the rug in this post.
It was the first thing I bought for the house. In fact, I bought it long before we moved in. It's a gorgeous butterfly wing and I knew it would be perfect for the entry way. I got it online at Overstock.

That is a stunning card, Jaydee. The colors are bold and so is the image. They work beautifully together. I know you said you wished you could re-size the flower, but I think it works as it is. :o)
Bailey truly only weighs about 13 pounds? Really? Fred and George are almost 15 pounds each. They are, quite frankly, HUGE. My miniature panthers. ;o)
That rug is absolutely gorgeous and perfect in that space.
The trees? I can’t wait to see them in place. I’m always so impressed with your commitment to nature and the world around you, in this instance going so far as to have native Minnesota grown species of trees planted. It’s a beautiful thing.
The new baby? She’s stunning and I’m *in love*! :swoon: I’m delighted you and Lou find her impressive as well. ;o)
