Hi Everyone.
Happy Friday! I have a quick post for you tonight.
SimonSaysStamp is having a Work it Wednesday "use yellow" challenge and I paired it with this fresh, fun sketch from handstampedsentiments:
I knew that I was going to use flowers and have a set I have in my stash that I thought it would be perfect. It's a whimsical coneflower/daisy style flower that I inked up with Memento Black ink and stamped in different directions across the focal layer. I used Copic markers to color the centers of the flowers backed it onto a black base.
However, it wasn't quite finished… it needed a little something… so I took my Copic fine liner and my straight edge ruler and created two thin lines through the flowers. I then used the marker to color the inside of the lines black. It helps to frame the flowers and adds just that little bit extra that seemed to finish it off.
I love the bold, graphic feel with the pop of yellow. Here's my card:
On a personal note:
I can't tell you how happy I am it is Friday! The sun is shining… the leaves are turning green… what else can one ask for? 🙂
I'll be back with another card tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Fantastic card, love it. Hmmm, that gives me an idea for a stamp I haven’t used in awhile. Thanks for the inspiration.
