Happy Sunday
It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's color week.
When I first saw this color challenge I immediately thought masculine. It would have worked really well for some of the ideas that I had but, as I stood looking at my collection of stamps, I had an idea to use it with Free as a Bird instead! This set is one of my favorite Stampin' Up! sets of all time and is another one of those sets that won't get recycled for quite a while!
I stamped and colored the image and paired it with the Nordic Frames die from The Greetery. I really like how it turned out. My neutral color choice for the challenge was black.
Here's my card:
The sentiment is from Cotton Comforts from The Greetery. I love how the Nordic Frame pops off the Misty background and how it frames the images. It's such an unusual pattern for a frame and makes a nice change from my usual stitched rectangles.
I hope you will play along with our challenge this week. We can't wait to see what YOU create. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well, it's not any warmer, or sunnier, today! So, the heater is back on and we are back in warm clothing! Considering we have changed out all the curtains, carpets, etc for warmer days, it feels like we should bring out the red curtains and carpets and thow blankets!
One of the Easter decorations we had up, was this fabulous bunny wreath! It's in the entrance hall and we get to appreciate it every night as it's one of the major things we see from the dining room table! If there is one good thing that has come out of the pandemic it's that I've had the inclination to decorate and change things around more than I have ever done. Both of us have enjoyed the goodies. I also got introduced to Etsy during this last year and the many, many, many home industries that have popped up and I love being able to support them – and enjoy the goodies they sell. This bunny wreath is one of the items that I purchased on Etsy.
The family room has also undergone a transformation. Gone are the warm reds and golds of the fall and winter months. Back are the blue curtains. This year we added a blue and grey carpet to replace the red one we had over winter. Now, the light streams in thru the windows and the blue curtains perfectly reflect the pale, cool blue of the sky.
The dining room cupboard was decorated for Easter and we both enjoyed the playful Rae Dunn "Crack Me Up" cookie jar and the "Eggcited" mug! The bunnies were from Kirklands and I got them on sale. They make me smile!
The tiered tray on the kitchen counter was also redecorated. Gone were the winter/Christmas items. They were replaced with carrots and bunnies and all things associated with Easter. Begin vegetarian, the crate full of carrots makes us smile!
Nothing reminds me of spring more than lambs! When I saw these two little guys on Etsy, I just couldn't resist them. They are absolutely adorable.
I hope you enjoyed a little glimpse into our Easter decorations! I'll be back later with another card that I made for a challenge. Yes, I actually got to play in a challenge for the first time in many weeks! In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
