Gently Falling Meets Frostwood Lodge for Freshly Made

Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday.

I have a quick post for you tonight.  When I saw the Freshly Made sketch for the inaugural challenge this week, I fell in love with it.  So much so, that I absolutely HAD to make another card.  You may remember my snowman card HERE.

Well, keeping with the weather theme…. :-)  I created a fall version of the card using my new Gently Falling stamp set and the fabulous Frostwood Lodge DSP.

Here's what I came up with.

The sentiment was typed up on my apple and printed on my new printer… I finished up the sentiment on the inside of the card

Of course, this is one of the cards that I made for OWH.  🙂

So, thank you FMS team for having me along for your inaugural ride -I absolutely loved it and was honored to be a part of it.  I can't wait to play along with the sketches going forward.

Then, I have two SHOUT OUTs tonight…. both related to OWH.  To Robin!  Thank you, my friend!  Robin wasn't able to send me any cards, but she sent a donation to include in the box to help OWH defray the costs of postage, etc.  Robin, it meant a great deal to me that you did that – and your donation helps OWH continue to do what they do.  Thank you! 🙂

Then to Ann Marie.  AM is married into the army and couldn't wait to join us on our quest to gather as many cards as we can for this drive.  AM asked me to hold off for a couple of days, as she was having a team building as part of her office retreat this week and I thought it was a great idea.  What a great team building exercise to do something for someone else.  Hopefully, it introduced new people to this fabulous cause.

On a personal note.

It has been an exhausting week this week.  I am tried and I am frazzled and frayed around the edges.  Today was a 15 hour day and the rest of the week hasn't been much better.  Consequently, I have gotten no stamping done and will not be able to show a card for the Paper Players challenge this weekend.  My first time ever not being able to create a card.  Lou gets home tomorrow (thank you, Rach :-)…) and it will be great to see him.  Right now, I am going to put something in the oven and hope that I don't fall alseep whilst it burns to a cinder 🙂

My thoughts and prayers to all of you affected by the weird weather around the country.  I hope you all stay safe and dry – or get rain where you need it!

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Beautiful Jaydee! The maple leaf really pops and takes center stage. I love your coloring. This is a great design and one I need to try out.
Hope you get the rest you need from your long work week. I say cuddle up with Lou and take advantage of your beautiful deck this weekend!

  2. What a great way to showcase the leaf. Every element are perfectly blended into the sketch. I’ll have to try this layout myself. Thank you.
I am sorry to hear your work week has been long. Hopefully you’ll get some rest over the weekend. I wish I was close by then I could help you with the OWH…sorting, packing, etc.

  3. Wow … Jaydee, this is another fabulous creation, I love how the simplicity of the card has been brought to life by the addition of the coloured leaf and the stunning brads …. brilliant!!!!
Thank you once again for joining us as Guest Designer in our inaugural challenge at Freshly Made Sketches!!!

  4. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work….
May you have a restful weekend! doing just what you want to do…

  5. Jaydee, you just sound whipped. I’m so sorry you have had such a busy (what an understatement!) week. I’m equally happy Lou will be home this weekend. Hooray!
This is such a wonderful sketch. I so desperately want to play along and hope to get a chance to…
The card is wonderful. The background reminds me of birch or aspen bark, and the card itself has me longing for fall. The pop of color with the leaf is just perfect. :o)
Well, Lil has laid out a game of “Memory” so I’d best be off to play with her.
    Hugs!
    P.S. Welcome home, Lou! :o)

  6. What a great fall card! I just love the pop of the orange leaf.
Hope you’re able to have a very restful weekend. So great that Lou is coming home also! Yesterday must have been the long work day of the week. My husband worked 11 hours, went to dinner with my Mom & I, then got called back to work when the plant went down & worked another 9 hours. I’m actually surprised he woke up as early as he did since he didn’t get home until 5 am. He’s now relaxing outside in the hammock since I told him to get out & get some fresh air after being cooped up yesterday during this nice weather we’re having.
    Have a great weekend!

  7. Love the card lady…you really need to take a break and not work so hard and get rid of those long hours. Just grab a suit case and come out to VA Beach with me … you can stay in the coach with us ; ) Hopefully, you will catch up on some much needed rest.
