Happy Holidays – Big on Christmas

Hi Everyone

Welcome to Jaydee's SU stamping space.  So…. today is day 3 of our cruise… and this is the funniest thing!  Today we are visiting Nice.  Oh… so where were we 4 days ago, packing up my hubby's temporary apartment… in Nice!!!  However, we have never visited Monaco, so we took the opportunity to do that as an excursion.  If I can upload any pics on this trip I will, but the connection so far has been very slow, so I might not be successful!

I used the Big on Christmas set for today's card which was for a splitcoaststampers sketch challenge.  This sketch is very unusual and I really had to have several attempts – with several different stamp sets – before I actually got the card finished!

Card recipe:

• Shimmer White and Old Olive card stock
• Merry Moments DSP
• Big on Christmas stamp set
• I stamped the image on to shimmer white card stock using Old Olive Ink.
• I then took my shimmer paint and painted in between the outlines of the "happy" and the baubles on the tree.
• I stamped a second tree, which I cut with my snips
• Once the ink was dry, I put a little bit of Crystal Effects onto the baubles to raise them a little
• I colored the star with Crushed Curry marker and added just a touch of shimmer paint to that too.
• I use the satin ribbon from the Mistletoe ribbon originals
• Jaydee tip:  As there are a lot of angles on this card, I decided to round the bottom corners of the card, just to soften the feel of it a little – and I placed the ribbon so that it covered the peaks of the matts as well.

As great as cruising is…. the bed just doesn't feel right without the furballs to keep us warm!
