Hey, s’up?

Hi Everyone.  Happy Wednesday.   I am so glad that it is hump day!  I am so looking forward to the weekend.

I didn't get much time in my stamping space this weekend, and haven't gotten inside there yet this week, however, I did make a card for the fusion challenge using this fun sketch.  (I used just the sketch and not the gorgeous flower/cupcake inspiration photo.)

I think this is a great sketch to use to highlight DSP and that's exactly what I did with this card.  I actually made two different cards using totally different DSP sets and I'll share the second one with you tomorrow.

Here's my first version:

Heysup pink

You can see that I paired the DSP with some ribbon and sequins from the new In Color Sequins from SU.  I LOVE these sequins :-)  I also love this new stamp set Hi There.  I just love the "s'up" stamp.  My mother wouldn't be impressed by it.  Mind you, my English teach Mrs Tucker wouldn't be, either!  But as I have always been a rebel…. I'm going to admit to loving it 🙂

I thought you might want a quick look at the view from my crafting desk.  Even though we now have the screened in underdeck, I still have a great view into the woodlands over part of the prairie and its a cool respite on a hot day.

Craft room view

Yesterday, I worked from 6am to 8pm BUT I did manage to get 10 minutes for lunch and decided I would sit outside and enjoy the view.  It's this view that makes working the hours that I do worthwhile and, occasionally, I need to go outside and remind myself of that 🙂

It was a glorious day.  The sun was shining, there was a slight breeze and the humidity was manageable.  Here is a little bit of my view over the wetland

Lunchtime view-2

It's a view that never gets old and always calms my nerves.  Whilst I was out there, I had a couple of visitors:

Yes…. Niles and Daphne are back, although they don't seem to have had any babies.  However, a couple of hours later I was out on the deck, AGAIN, and was privileged to see – and hear – the two of them participating in a mating dance.  I'm really hoping that they come back next year and surprise us with some babies!

We still have water in the wetland, although it has drained quite significantly.  I can't believe how much of a difference the water has made to the wetland.  It really has turned it into a totally different space this year.  The Great Egrets are still visiting, but they are not as profuse now.  We still love seeing them when they do visit, though.

Wetland-3

One last photo for you…. the BlackEyed Susan's never cease to give me pleasure 🙂

As always, thank you for your visit and for your comments.  I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again :-)  I really do appreciate that you take the time to leave me comments, or send me emails.  It's those things that encourage me to blog and to share cards and our little piece of paradise with you.

I'll be back with another card tomorrow.  In the meantime warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Great Looking card Jaydee and what a fun sketch to work with.
I think you are the only person that I know of that has such a great view looking out from their craft room area.
Who wouldn’t want to craft with a view like that? It’s totally Awesome.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos.
We’re under a heat advisory for the next few days so don’t think I will be doing much of anything outside for awhile. The humidity is terrible With our heat index today it will feel like it’s 109 deg. out. :{ Bring on them Fall temperatures.

  2. Jaydee! Hi! My life has slowed down once more. Whew! Well, sort of at any rate.
It was so lovely to come and visit and see your beautiful wetlands! :o) And your view from your craft room is simply inspiring and peaceful. I LOVE that Niles and Daphne are back. I suppose the egrets have about run out of food given how may of them there were. :oP
Your card is so fun! I love the pink and your bling. You always seem to add just the right finishing touches! :o)
