Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Nance's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great sketch for us.
I hope you will join us this week and play along with this great sketch. As always, if you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the great creations from our very talented design team.
On a personal note:
OK… what happened to fall. It's been nearly 100 degrees here in Minneapolis for the last couple of days and it's due to hit the late 80s again today. The humidity will take the heat index up into the 90s. The trees are very confused. Some of them started shedding their leaves in August when it got so cold and some of them have stopped shedding at all. All our summer birds have gone – every single one of them – so they must know something. It's been a very strange summer and I am expecting that we are in for a very strange winter!
Thanks to those of you who have played along with my guessing game for the blog candy. Need a refresher about what the blog candy is? Check out this post. Today's post – and tomorrow's post – will be the last chances to enter, as I shall be drawing a winner on Tuesday 9.26!
So… how many people are looking for a woman who has the same name as my great-great-grandmother? Well, it's a bit of a trick question…… :-) I must admit when I first saw the number I almost fell off my chair – until I realized (well at least I hope it's true) – that Ancestry had counted the name – and not my great-great-grandmother specifically :-)
So…. what's the number? Well…. here's another clue – it's 7 figures! So now what do you think the number is? :-) Take a guess. Closest person to the real number gets the fabulous Altenew set – Crafty Friends.
I'm off to my craft room today – to escape the heat. I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Oh, how I love your shaker card; so bright and cheerful.
7 digit number! Going out on a rather Large limb here but I will say . . . 5,500, 495
The colors and dimension on your sunflower are gorgeous, Jaydee! I also love that you used the sketch for a shaker card–genius. The surprise element of blues and light greens in your sequins take the color scheme from autumn to sunshine and Indian Summer. Love it, my friend! Hope your weather settles down soon!
Jaydee, this is gorgeous! I love sunflowers and this one is beautiful! The medal embellishment is fantastic! The shaker card is just stunning! This would be “sunshine” to anyone that receives this work of art! I hope you have a fabulous week, My Friend! XX
Wow, what crazy weather Jaydee. It was 90 degrees in NYC today, too. I absolutely adore this card Jaydee. The sunflower is stunning and it’s a shaker, to boot. Ok we are still playing the guessing game, so I shall guess 3,214,781. Hope things cool off for you a bit, and have a great week!
I’m confused about the weather too! We were in Elk River for a baptism today..humid hot 90’s! No air in the church either. Then we drove back up north to 55 and needing jackets!
But I’m not confused about your card…this is a gorgeous shaker!I love that pop of blue with the yellows and browns…so pretty!
Have a great week!
Such a vibrant and joyful card! The little sunflower centre in your sunflower is a sweet touch. This is a lovely card.
Your card is lovely – I like to see where you go with the challenges and they are way beyond anything I could ever accomplish!
Who would have thought the number would be so large! I shall guess 6,712,842 for no good reason at all!
Love your shaker card. I have tried, but failed to create one that shakes! Oh, well. My guess is 8,390,460. Fun contest. I agree our weather is weird…loving it today as I don’t like heat and humidity. The geese know something is coming – have you noticed them in formation? I like to see that.
Weather is weird on the east coast too.
Your card is lovely.
Contest is a fun one. My guess is 1,444,733.
Oh my, I might want to get that kit just to get that cute little sunflower element….what a sweet little thing! And your shaker card is divine….those sequins are CUTE!!!! Great way to interpret Nance’s sketch!
I did not see shaker with this sketch at all Jaydee, yet it works a treat! I love that sunflower centre as a focal point and those shimmering sequins in your shaker really work with the yellows and oranges. What is with the weather?! It isn’t as extreme here in the UK, but it has been unseasonably mild; all of the autumn fruit ripened in summer and currently wherever you see a holly bush the berries are already red – I just hope there are still some left by Christmas!
Beautiful card!!! 511,1322
Shaker cards make me so happy! This is gorgeous Jaydee! I am wearing a tank top right now and yet there is snow in the forecast – oh fall!
Hi Jaydee! Shaker cards make me swoon and this one is no exception. I really need to up my game and give them a try. Beautiful inking on the sunflower and the gold center is the perfect touch. Have a grand weekend!
