Happy Sunday.
It’s the fabulous Claire’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s color week! I used colors that I never use for this card. Bright colors are just not my thing. No idea why…. but I am not particularly drawn to them generally. However, that’s the great thing about a challenge – they get you out of your comfort zone!
I used a set from the virtual PinkFresh Studio event in November for today’s card. Although today’s card uses the same set I used for this card, it looks very different as I used the envelope from that set, too. Here’s a sneak peek of today’s card using the Holiday Gifts set.
Oh… .and here are the colors from Claire’s color challenge:
I decided to embrace the red and the pink and go with it!!! The pop of turquoise really lifts the two colors and I ended up with a Christmas card that really pushes my color boundaries, but I was so pleased that Claire had made me go in a different direction!
Some splatters were all that was needed to finish the card and they add a little interest to the base of the card. The pressies were colored with Copic markers.

Talking about our design team. This is our final challenge with our 2023 Guest Designers – and the final challenge for this year. It’s been a pleasure having you on the team Fran, Suzy and Tara and I have enjoyed visiting each of your fabulous creations this year.
On a personal note:
Well, with 10 days to go I am frantically trying to get cards made for my design team commitments. I won’t have my card making goodies with me when I’m travelling, so I wanted to make sure that I had everything done before I left. I still have a few cards left to make this weekend, but should be caught up (hopefully) by end of day tomorrow. Then I can get down to worrying about what I have to pack and into what suitcases everything will go!
I have done a little clearing out so have a couple of giveaways coming up this week. I will be back on Tuesday with details on those. My way of saying thank you to all of you who have supported me and visited me this year – and, for some of you, over many years. I really do appreciate each and every one of you:-)

Jaydee, What a great way to use the colors. I love how you stuffed all those presents into the envelope. The coloring makes them even more festive and fun. Have a happy holiday season.
Jaydee, I wrote a comment on this beautiful card and Capri (my older black female cat) ran across the keyboard and I have no idea whether it posted. This may be my second comment – if so, you deserve both! It’s hard to imagine that you have a hard time with bright colors. This card is beautifully done. I particularly love the addition of the white splatters on the red background. It’s been such an honor to design with you through this year and I really appreciate your patience with my technical ignorance!

Those colors would have thrown me for a loop. Your card showed them off perfectly. I haven’t had a computer for several months so I’m just catching up on all your news of retirement and an incredible trip. You must be so excited, and very busy taking care of all the million and one details. I hope you’ll be able to post a few updates here and there while you’re away.
