I know……. for Paper Players #420

Hi Everyone.

Happy Sunday.  It's the fabulous Sandy's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a sketch:

I decided to have some fun with this sketch…. well, not so much with the sketch – but with my sentiment 🙂

I needed a card for Lou and pulled out a set I brought at Ellen Hutson a little while ago.  It has some fantastic sentiments, and this one is just perfect.  The day Lou met me, he knew it wasn't going to be an easy ride, but he's stuck around for 25 years and I thought it was time to recognize that fact.

I pulled out some masculine patterned paper – the "strong-arm" man was perfect for the sentiment!  I also added another paper that has silhouettes of power tools.  Why is it that every time something needs done around the house, a new power tool seems to be required?  Is Lou the only guy that is like that?  Anyway, I glued the papers to the card base to match the sketch and die-cut the sentiment with my stitched rectangles and mounted it on some fun foam onto the card base.

Here's a look at the papers I used:

You will notice that I managed to sneak a little bling onto the card – the strong arm men are wearing foiled leotards 🙂

Here's my full card:

Seriously, I just love this sentiment!  I am sure I am not the only person this applies to:-)

I hope you will join us and play along this week.  As usual, if you are looking for some inspiration, our design team have some fabulous cards for you:

On a personal note:

I did manage to finally make a card.  As you can see, it was especially complicated, but it was a card!  I really don't know where my mojo has gone and life certainly has been getting in the way of crafting recently.

Lou and I decorated the house – inside and out – for Christmas.  It looks warm and cozy and I love drawing the curtains at night and seeing the glow of the candles and lights.  It helps me to forget that it is so cold outside!

I'm hoping that I will be able to get back into my craft room tomorrow because I REALLY need to start making Christmas cards – and I have a couple of birthday cards that need to get sent out.

Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. :} Love the looks and layout of your card and the sentiment is perfect.
Jaydee, you not know that power tools are the Big boy toys? :} (difference between men & boys is the price of their ‘toys’ )
My husband came home last night with a Rigid miter saw stand. He already had a stand that his miter saw was on……….but this new one has wheels. He never moved his saw around in his shop but he felt he needed a stand with wheels. Go figure.
Now for his old stand, he will make a top for it and I will be able to use that for my Ryobi saw so I guess it’s a win, win for both of us.
Enjoy your day and have a great evening.

  2. Jaydee, what a perfect mix of patterned papers with that wonderful sentiment! Congrats to you and Lou on 25 years! Dave and I will be celebrating number 24 very soon. It hardly seems like it has been that long. It sounds like you have been very productive with Christmas decorating AND you even got some creative time in. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, my friend. Big hugs!

  4. Woo hoo! Congrats on 25 years, Jaydee! That paper is a hoot. You can’t beat strong men in foil striped tights! Have a wonderful upcoming week!

  5. Oh wow! This is wonderful on so many levels. I laughed out loud for a start. Love the papers, the way they back up the sentiment, the stitching … all the parts add up to something special.

  6. LOVE that sentiment Jaydee – what a find! I’m sure Lou will appreciate it – many congratulations of 25 years together! It pairs so perfectly with your patterned papers too – those strong man foiled leotards are just great! I have visions of your cosy decorated house – it is so cold here at the moment, I just want to hibernate too!

  7. Jaydee, what a perfect masculine card, and that sentiment is so much fun! The patterned paper is just awesome, too. I’m sure Lou loved this card! I hope you’ll share some photos of your Christmas decorations, I’m sure they’re just lovely.
