In the Meadow…..

Hi Everyone.  Happy Tuesday.

I  have a card for you tonight, a photo that my automatic camera snapped in the middle of the night, and a couple of Christmas decoration photos for you!

Firstly, the card!   I saw this great set at PTI called In the Meadow.  I knew it would be perfect for cards for the EM card drive – oh, and ones for my own personal use, too.  I used the accompanying dies to create several cards.  Here's the first one.

Dashing

I used the SU confetti snowflake stamp for the background, some Dazzling Details on the snow mounds and my gel pens over the sentiment to add a little something extra.  I know you can't really see the dazzle from the dazzling details, or the glimmer from the gelly pen, but I promise they are there!  Just a couple of little things to add a little something to the card.  It's another one that is really easy to put through the post.  For myself, I will pop the snowmound at the front up on dimensionals, but for the residents, I thought it was easier to create a card that could easily go through the normal post.

On to some deco photos.   I've found decorating the inside of the house somewhat difficult.  For the last few years, I've known exactly where all the decorations go, what surfaces they fit on, etc.  In the new house. Everything is different and, to my surprise, we don't have as many "surfaces" to add decorations.  Lots of counter top and things, but not the stand-alone furniture pieces that used to be places that I could decorate.  So, I'm taking my time trying to work out what I'm going to do.  I did want to share a couple of things with you though.

I found these fabulous Reindeer on eBay.  They were originally sold by Pottery Barn last year, but were no longer available.  Oh, the joys of eBay.  I combined them with a fabulous wreath I found at an online discount store.  Of course, I had to take off the bow that was on there and totally re-do it.  Y'all know what I'm like about bows!   I added some candles.  I do want to add some fake snow, but have to find something I can adhere it to.  So, Im still working on that… but aren't these reindeer fabulous?

You can see the centerpiece on the coffee table, too.  I love this centerpiece and got it at the same online discounter as the wreath.   I loved the colors on the wreath and think they work well with the color of the fireplace wall.   I know this isn't the greatest shot, but when I took it with the flash it completely and utterly drained the shot… so, I left it as it is.   Note to self:  need a camera that takes good low light shots!

Then, at the same online discount retailer… I discovered these fabulous birds.  These birds make me so happy.  They are about 3 feet tall with their stands and I just love them.  I have them on the side table – here's a closeup of them.  Did I tell you that they made me happy? 🙂

Here's a closeup

Birds (1)

They are fun and whimsical and I love their scarves and their hats with the bells.   Another note to self:  I seem to have an obsession with bells for Christmas this year…maybe I need an intervention!

I also need to change out the curtains for the gorgeous Dark Henna colored ones that I bought.  First, I have to sew on shirring tape so that I can hang them!  So, for now, we still have the spring/summer curtains up!

Then, I had to share these gorgeous pillows with you.  I love them.  They are so textural – and I absolutely love the colors as the red is very close to the color of the curtains, too.  Also, the red in the pillows is picked up by the red in the birds.

Cushions (1)

The flowers are made of velvet and brocade…and the background color is the same color as the couch.  Love them!

Now….. I left my camera on auto last night… to see if I could capture sightings of that naughty Buzbee.   Imagine my surprise when I found this!

Buzbee2

What on earth was this silly elf thinking!   Swinging upside down on the wreath on the door!  Really, what fun they get up to at night.   If you are looking for a little elf fun, you should check out Rach's blog post tonight and see what Fisbee was up to!  Silly, silly, elf!

As always, thank you for visiting my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  I really do appreciate all your visits and all of your comments!

Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. What a fun, vintage-y, and yet clean and simple stamp set. I agree popping up that top layer of snow will be perfect, but certainly understand your desire to leave it flat for EM.
I have the SAME problem taking photos in low-light versus using that dratted flash. Gr.
When we moved in here I had a terrible time deciding where to decorations. Then, we got rid of furniture and got new furniture and I was in decorating chaos once again. This year was much easier, that’s for sure.
Those birds–I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! And the pillows! :o) I’m sure my girls would love those pillows too…;o)
Buzbee, you make me laugh, you silly boy! I have NO idea what Fisbee is going to get up to tonight. There’s no end to the mischief-making around these parts. ;o)
    Hugs!
    P.S. Howdy, Lou! :o)

  2. All of your finds are lovely but ….I’m mad about those birdsxxxooo! The pillows are smashing too. What fun.
A tree on the deck is always great and hopefully you have a view of it from your eating area. I have always set my timer for the outside lights to come on in the morning around 4:00 a.m then off at dawn and then on/off in the evening too. Easy to do with one timer if you have the prong/peg type. You just need 2 more pegs:)
