In Wilderness

Hi Everyone.  Happy Wednesday.

It's hard to believe that the year is almost at an end.  It's a time of the year that always leaves me a little emotional as I remember the year that is past and look forward to the year that is being rung in.  Lou and I will be sharing the evening with some very close friends and are looking forward to it.

Tonight's card uses a set I got a little while ago, but have not yet used.  I got this set because I truly love the sentiment and the animal etchings.

The bald eagle is a most magnificent bird.  A few years ago, we were blessed to actually have one in the three in our garden.  Why, we have absolutely no idea.  We are miles from where he should have been, I guess he was just resting.  We certainly appreciated his noble presence.

To allow the focus to be on the sentiment and the noble bird, I really wanted to use a clean and simple sketch.  I've used sketches like this before, but was reminded of it on the clean and simple stamping fall to layout this week.  It was perfect for this image.  It really is very versatile.

Note to self….. when airbrushing the background of a stamp that is not solid….. remember to stamp the focal image and then mask before airbrushing.  Errr… the bird is now blue and brown! 🙂  Anyway, you get the idea.

Isn't he beautiful?  The Early Espresso and Baja Breeze color scheme is perfect to showcase the sentiment and the bird.  In case you haven't taken a look at this set, here's a thumbnail of the whole set.

Prayers tonight for Rose, Adelle, Beverly, Germaine, and Pri.  For those of you who need a little lift.

Have a wonderful Thursday.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. I agree, the sentiment is WONDERFUL, and so true.
The layout, in its simplicity, does indeed lead you to focus on the sentiment and image (I’m chuckling at your “blue and brown bird”–I would SO do the same thing…). What a fantastic color combination, and what a simple and beautiful card.
We are stay-at-home kind of folks, so I do believe Brien, the girls and I will be taking it easy tomorrow night. I understand the “emotional” bit, as I too get that way when approaching a new year.
    I hope all are well.
    Hugs!

  2. Happy New Year to You Jaydee, to Lou and all the lovely cyber ladies! I have been so ill, can barely stand. Chris has given me a connection in bed, so here I am sending great wishes for the New Year! Hugs always! G
