Inspire

Hi Everyone.

Quick post for you tonight.

Dynamic Duos has a color challenge that forced me to use colors that I never normally use.  All pinks!  Yep.  Not my go to color scheme, but I loved it!   CAS on Sunday (a new challenge site for me) has a theme challenge – Flutterby!  I decided to combine both of these great challenges with the technique challenge of ombre for moxiefabworld

I thought about the moxiefabworld ombre challenge and decided it was a great technique to use on this image.  Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose go together beautifully and I paired it only with blank ink and white card stock.  This butterfly image from Memory Box is one of my all time favorites.  I love the sentiment and I love the butterfly.

Here's what I came up with for the three challenges.

I colored the image using Copic markers that replicate Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink.  I started at the bottom of the butterfly wing with the darker shades and moved up to lighter shading at the top of the wing.  I left a little piece in the middle of the wing to add a little shading, but otherwise I think you can see the shading from dark to light.

Once I had the colors right, I cut around the wing and placed it over a stamped image on my focal layer.   I colored the image underneath with the paler pink and then mounted the full colored wing over the stamped one.  I order to lift the wing, I glued it at the end nearest the body of the butterfly and then added some dimensionals to pop up the right hand side of the wing.  I know it's pretty hard to see in the photo, but it gives a lovely effect when you actually have it in hand.

I apologize for the photo…. my photo editing software is playing up again!!!!  But I think you get the idea.

Once I had mounted the focal layer on a Regal Rose frame, all that was left was to add a couple of basic rhinestones.   Aren't those colors fabulous together?  So, do you think I captured all three challenges?  I think I did! 🙂

Don't forget to pop along to Dynamic Duos, CAS on Sunday and Moxiefabworld and check out the fabulous cards!  Oh… and play along, too!

Thank you to all of my followers for inspiring me.  This card is dedicated to all of you.

I'll be back with another card tomorrow.   In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  4. Oohhhh! That card is so pretty! I love Pretty in Pink! I don’t know how to do shading yet. I can do it somewhat with aqua pens but not with markers. And I’m not sure where the darker and lighter colors should actually be. :(. Anyway, I really like your card!!!!
