It’s a celebration – Paper Players #400

Hi Everyone.

Happy Sunday.   It is my absolute pleasure to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it truly is a celebration.

This is a two week challenge and the Paper Players will be showcasing their designs this week and next.  I have to tell you that the badge that Nancy made (another great badge, by the way) and most of the design team cards were made in parallel.  We were all very surprised to see that most of us had made cards featuring balloons – and Nance had created a badge with balloons 🙂

So, to change things up a little, I decided to share the card I had made for the second week in place of the original card.  My balloon card will make an appearance next week 🙂

I did a little shopping before I made this card.    I downloaded a couple of digital stamps from Power Poppy.  I also took advantage of the 25% off they were having and bought a couple of other clear stamp sets and you will be seeing the fruits of those this week!

I decided to go with a present theme and had great fun coloring it with my Copic markers.  I mounted it onto a card base that had been sitting on my craft table for quite a while!   I used a Hero Arts stencil to emboss the card front and I thought it was the perfect backdrop to the focal element.

Here's a closeup:

Let's celebrate closeup (1 of 1)

I love the effect from the stencil.  Being able to use them to emboss really does stretch their usefulness 🙂

Here's my full card:

Let's Celebrate (1 of 1)

I do hope that you will join us and help us celebrate.  You have two weeks to create a celebration card and it can be any kind of celebration!   Birthday.  Anniversary.  4th July.  Graduation.  Whatever it is you want to celebrate!  You can check out the full set of rules on our blog right here

It's also wonderful to welcome back two of our early design team members – Ann Schach and Anne Marie Hile.  We are thrilled that they have joined us this week to help us celebrate.   You can check out all the wonderful cards from our design team at their blogs:

and our special guests –

I'll be back tomorrow with another card and some photos.   In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Jaydee, I always admire your coloring skills but here I am in AWE. Drop dead gorgeous shading and coloring my friend. Love that you kept the background layers all white to really make the presents pop. Nice subtle touch with the texture and stitching. So delighted to have shared the road to 400 with you. I still remember the first card of yours that led me to you and the Paper Players – http://www.jaydeestamping.com/weblog/2010/06/my-entry.html and my inspiration post – http://nanceleedy.blogspot.com/2010/06/spotlight-gala.html.
