Jumbo Curiosity Leaf for Paper Players #609

Happy Sunday

It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week.  It happens to be my favorite challenge week.  Clean and Simple!  Here's Claire's CAS challenge.  Initially I made a fall theme card.  But, then I had a look at the little Leafy Bits from The Greetery's newest release and had an altogether different idea.  I combined that with the new Jumbo Curiosity Buckeye Leaf die – also from the Greetery.

Here's a sneak peek:

I know some of hem are hard to see, but the leaves that look a little dull are actually beautifully bright and almost holographic!

Here's Claire's challenge:

I began by die-cutting the leaf inside a stitched circle.  I cut that out twice and layered the two negative pieces with a piece of acetate in the middle.   I then set about blending pinks and a green onto the die-cut leaf.  I added foam tape behind the shaker layer – make sure that my leaf was in just the right position.  I added it to the card, stamped and die-cut a sentiment – and everything was ready to go.

Here's my card:

Now you can see those dull looking leaves are actually beautifully bright and shiny!  I made this card for a friend who is celebrating her birthday in a couple of months and pink is her favorite color!  It was only when I had a close look at the Leafy Bits that I realized there was so much pink in them.  So, I celebrated that and went with it!

I hope you will join us and play along.  As always the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

The other thing that struck me about this card.   This is the second Paper Players card in a row that has been PINK!!!!  Those of you who have been following me for a while, know that I almost never use pink.  So…. two weeks in a row – I think I need to go and get my health checked – thee has to be something wrong with me 🙂

I'll be back with another card tomorrow.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Jaydee, you amaze me! I saw that you used pink again and I can not begin to express how much I love this card. The leaf is shape s so gorgeous and the shaker part is amazing! I love all the shine! Thank you for rocking my challenge, My Friend!

  2. Get you going all pink Jaydee!! I think it suits you – this leaf shaker is stunning and I love that some of the sprinkles are leaf-shaped too! Your friend will love it – hopefully as much as I did the recent birthday card you sent me – thank you so much!

  3. Claire, thanks! So glad you liked it. I must admit, I love all the floral elements together and that brick embossing folder is a favorite to add texture!
