Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday. I hope you are all having a great week so far.
Tonight, it is my pleasure to share with you Kelly's showcase. Kelly sent along some fabulous masculine cards and I loved that she kept others without a sentiment, making them really versatile. I need to remember to do that. For some reason, I have this fixation that you NEED a sentiment on a card, and Kelly reminded me that it was a great idea to leave it up to the sender to determine what the card should be used for. Kelly's cards had lots of fabulous color combinations and she even used paper piecing on the Sail Away card. Kelly also made multiples of the different cards, so I didn't photograph them all, just the single versions of the multiples. Kelly, thank you. Your cards were fabulous and I know that the recipients – and the sender – will enjoy spending time with them as much as I did. You rock!
Isn't this card fabulous? Great detailing… the coloring, the torn paper, the Baker's Twine, the top note die base… love it all! You can check the rest of Kelly's cards at this link or by clicking on the card above. Don't forget to leave Kelly a little comment love:-)
On a personal note:
Beverly… you are back!!!!! So glad to you have back, my friend. I know you had a wonderful time at the beach! I can't believe all the wonderful places you have been this summer and I really appreciate that you take the time to leave me a comment, even though you are traveling somewhere, back from somewhere, or just sitting somewhere fabulous! You rock, my friend!
It's been another long week this week and I am really missing being in my stamping space. Does everyone else get withdrawals when they can't craft? Making cards and crafting is almost Zen-like – I think of it as active meditation! :-) I have to focus my mind on the task at hand when I am crafting, and that forces me to switch off from the day and all the "lists" of "things" that go around and around in my head when I am doing anything like watching television. Yes, it's realxing and does help me switch off…. but not in the same way as crafting does. Consequently, I miss it very much. I am not going to get to doing anything creative for the rest of this week, either!
The other thing about not crafting for a while… it makes me falter when I finally sit in my crafting space…. I look at a piece of card stock or a stamp set and think… OK.. now what? Anyone else have that problem and if so, how do you get out of that creative funk? I may need to use some of those tricks when I finally get back into it!
Now, y'all know that I am a great fan of the gorgeous, handsome, naughty-boy, George Clooney. Well, this ad…. well… it just made my day. I mean, seriously, which GC admirer wouldn't want to be this woman. Oh yeah…. and don't forget the look on her face. The ad is hysterical. Click here to check it out
And on that wishful note… I bid you good night! 🙂
Hugs and prayers to those who need a little lift tonight,
Jaydee

Good Morning! You are just too sweet Jaydee . . . yes back and in full swing as I have so much to do for customers and this is Sam’s last year of school and she will be playing her last soccer game on their home field on Saturday, senior night! Nope not a bitter sweet moment at all. I look back at 25 years of soccer and I am ready for it to come to an end. : )
On another note, wow these ladies have done a marvelous job making/sending cards. (hoping next year I have more time to chime in on the fun) Thanks to all of you and thanks Jaydee for sharing all the cards.
Yes, there are times that I go in my room and think “oh my gosh what do I do?” Anytime I am in that *funk* I just go get some inspiration on websites and think to myself *I can do that* and then go try it. I might *case* something that I seen or make it my own. My worst problem right now is time . . . time moves to fast and I can’t get all done/finished that I would like. I have new stamp sets that I haven’t even used.
I totally agree with you Jaydee . . . I have always told everyone that *stamping/scrapping* is so relaxing.
Have a great day everyone!
Nice assortment of cards Kelly. I like your use of ribbon and twine. My favorite is the sailboat one. Great job!
Kelli, these are fabulous! I like the one Jaydee featured here on the main page–what a great use of the baker’s twine (I never would have thought to do that, AWESOME idea!)–and the one with the little house and tree. What a great layout and sweet card. :o)
Okay, Jaydee, I want to know who stole my daydream and made it into a commercial! I could just prop GC up in a corner and stare at him all day. Okay, that, and wipe the bit of drool that would occasionally escape my gaping, slack mouth. ;o)
As for getting in my stamping space. Yup. That’s why it’s been so hard for me to get back in there. I’m out of the groove and find it terribly hard to find it once more. :oS
Good luck!
Jaydee, I’m 100% certain that you should have starred in that video!!!! Too funny!! Kelly’s card is great, too! Simply masculine and I love the torn elements. 🙂
