Hi Everyone. Happy Thursday night.
The challenge across at Stacey's Stampin Stage this week were gorgeous. I've never put these colors together, but they really do look fabulous. Concord Crush, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Basic Grey and Whisper White. Which are gorgeous. The only problem…… well, I forgot the basic grey, didn't I? Honestly, sometimes, I just worry about myself! So, pop along to Stacey's page and check out the inspiration cards using the right colors, I promise you will find something you like. In the meantime, here's my-almost-the-right-colors attempt!
The cool of the grey would have really kicked up this card a notch!
I don't know about you, but I am always looking for sketches. I have found myself going to a Paper Crafts magazine I bought a few months ago. It was the Go To Sketches Edition from around April. There are 282 projects from 66 sketches. I used the sketch from page 59 as the basis for this card. It's not quite the same sketch, I did manipulate it a little, but I find having the sketches really helps me when I feel a little lacking in sketch mojo.
This stamp set was one of the ones that I bought when Lou and I literally fell into this tiny crafting shop in a village in England. Many of my friends know my obsession with shoes and these shoes are just GORGEOUS :-) So, Lou insisted I buy the set. Now, not sure about you, but if my hubby insists I buy something in a craft shop – I ain't going to say no in a hurry!
I wanted to warm up the Whisper White a little, so used Crumb Cake over the Whisper White and then colored the shoe and cut it out with my paper snips. It's adhered to the base with Stampin Dimensionals.
I have another couple of last photos to share with you from Giverny tonight. We walked along the street behind Monet's house and museum. A leisurely stroll and found a cafe with a couple of outdoor bistro tables and a view across the street. It was a warm little sunny, sheltered spot and we had a beer, a cafe and a baguette. It was wonderful just sitting people watching. The villagers all drove these tiny little cars, or rode bicycles. Carrying their baguette and small bags of shopping. One woman came past with her child on the bike, a dog on a lead and her shopping in the basket at the front of her bike. It was amazing. It was really, really quiet. Peaceful. Serene. I could imagine Monet outside the same cafe, enjoying the same view.
Opposite the cafe itself, they had set up an outside area. It must be a wonderful respite from the heat in summer. At the time we went, it was clothed in the full colors of Autumn. What struck me was the colors of the table, chairs and umbrellas. It was never a color combination I would put together, but will be the inspiration for a card I make. The pop of blue was just fabulous – and unexpected.
Don't you love the milk cans?
Now, let's do a closeup of the area and you can see the amazing trees in the forest behind.
On the way down the road, we came across a wall covered in this creeper.
Here's a photo of the creeper above the front door at Monet's house. I hope you enjoyed your trip to Giverny. We certainly did. It was truly amazing.
Tomorrow, I will show you some photographs from our tour the same afternoon. We were off to Rouen.
Tomorrow we are expecting somewhere between 4-8" of snow. Finally, our first real storm of the winter. Mind you, good job I'm not back in my home town of England right now. Its been snowing for 3 days there. Unlike Minnesota, Yorkshire is not used to having snow storms like this. It has basically brought the area to a stand still.
Continued prayers for Germaine, Rose, Arthur, Adelle, Pri. Also for those of you who need a little lift.
Have a fabulous Friday everyone.
Hugs
Jaydee

What a fantastic color challenge, and even better, what a fantabulous card. That shoe is DIVINE! I’m SO happy Lou twisted your arm into getting it. ;o)
Oh, Giverny seems so utterly beautiful and peaceful. I can’t wait to see Rouen!
Jaydee, how’re the kitties doing? How’s Charlie? I’m just curious. :oP
Hugs and prayers.

I loved your tour and the wonderful pictures. When I lived in France from 62-64 they had the coldest winter on record for 20 years. Brrrr! I loved every minute of it though.
Now that is one fancy card! I love the shoe of course, but the colors are just right and the bow is divine!
Thanks for more peaceful, serene pictures! We are getting snow too and the pictures make me feel warmer!
Wow, love it! Nope I wouldn’t have thought of the colors and glad you showed us. Now the shoes, my sister is obsessed person I know with shoes. She has about 150 pairs (no joke)
Have a great weekend!
