Les Jungles for Time Out and Case This Sketch

Happy Tuesday!

I have a quick post for you today featuring Katzelkraft's Les Jungles.  I've had this set for quite a few years and I always enjoy inking it up.  I was inspired to use it from the theme at Time Out this week and the sketch across at Casethissketch

When I saw peaceful, I immediately went to Christmas BUT… then I saw the peace sign and my head went in a totally different direction.  I remembered the meditating funky-monkey from the Katzelkrafts set and decided that it would be perfect and it worked for the sketch, too!  I stamped him and used my Paper Rose studio super hero rays stencil to create rainbow colored sunbeams behind him.   I stamped the sentiment and added it to a polka dot layer (from the June 2020 Paper Pumpkin leftovers!)  Here's my oh so peaceful monkey!

Of course, I had to add a little shimmer and shine to his head dress and rainbows:

He just makes me smile and I hope he makes you smile, too!

Before I go, here's what has been visiting the feeder this week.  A female downy was enjoying the suet!

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

  2. A really fun card and that image is super and just perfect for out challenge. Great idea to use the sunray stencil-gives an even more peaceful feel. Thanks for joining us at Time Out x

  3. Oooo this is hilarious! Makes me smile big time! love the look of the meditating monkey and the CAS look of the card makes him pop. Great job! Thank you for joining us at Time Out!

  4. Sally, so glad my meditating monkey made you laugh 🙂 For the rainbow rays, I placed the stencil right over the top of him and then used one of the small blending brushes that came with the set I bought on Amazon. It’s small enough that you can get between the rays without having to mask, so it was really quick and easy. At this link – its the 6th brush down. You can see how tiny it is. https://smile.amazon.com/Professional-VIVACE-Multifunctional-Foundation-Contouring/dp/B06XS4HMGC/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=makeup+blending+brush&qid=1596117763&sr=8-10

He looks like me trying to meditate but having one eye open because the kids keep coming to ask for something….Your colouring is fabulous and I just love the rainbow rays in the background. Its such a wonderful CAS design and I’m so glad you shared it with us at TIME OUT!
