I managed to play along with two challenges for this card. SimonSaysStamp "H" Challenge and the sketch challenge across at Retrosketches.
Now, my regular blog readers will know that I love adding tags to my card, so this retrosketches challenge was perfect. When I was looking for just the elements I needed, I remembered by SSS February card kit had arrived in the post. I opened it up and the "H" elements came jumping out at me – cos it is a Valentine's themed kit. I paired the DSP and the rub-ons with a SSS heart die (that I love btw!). I used the outside of the heart on the outside of the card and the inside of the heart on the inside of the card. 🙂
I began creating the tag with a piece of Blushing Bride card stock and then stamped the SU Woodgrain stamp onto the base using shimmery Versamark. I embossed the woodgrain with WOW pearl embossing powder. Once that I was dry, I took one of the rub-ons from the card kit and adhered it to the tag. I used ink to lightly color the silver glimmer paper heart and adhered it to the base. I used the XOXO stamp, included in the card kit, and stamped it across the bottom of the tag using Blushing Bride ink. I popped the tag on a couple of layers of fun foam and adhered it to a piece of DSP from the kit. I added a couple of enamel dots fand a pink peg from my stash- and I was all done!

I don't generally use pink but, keeping with my 2015 resolutions, I pulled together a pink card :-) Of course, I had to finish off the inside:
Then…. I used one of the other items in my stash that NEVER sees the light of day – my SU envelope liner dies … and I created a liner to complement the card.
These days I rarely make cards that can't go through the post, but wanted to make an exception in this case. I made this card for a lady who will be delivering it, by hand, to her mother… yes, a valentine's for your Mom…. :-) Her Mom loves receiving cards, but the sender doesn't feel in the least bit inclined to ever send cards… so we had a long conversation about how important it was to send cards and how, even though she thinks she has done a great think because she sent her a text message…. a text message is instant gratification, but it isn't something you can take out, touch, feel, look at the inside and outside and cherish forever! So, I made this card to prove to her that a card was somethig very different 🙂
Actually, I was very pleased with the end outcome and was really pleased that I had combined both old and new goodies to create the card, and that I had finished the inside – and the envelope!!!! Go ME!:-)
On a personal note:
It snowed! About time!!!!! It seems that everyone is having snow – except us :-) The world looks so pretty and the evergreens are coated in white, fluffy snow.
I managed to photographed a stag with his harem. It's pretty hard to see the stag as there was grass in front of him, but he has a reasonable set of horns.
I had to take this photo through the screens on the window… so it isn't the greatest shot….
I'll be back tomorrow with another project – this time a masculine Valentine's card 🙂 In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Oh, Jaydee, what a sweet and loving card along with the lined envelope. That lady’s mother will absolutely love it. It will be something that she can save, pin it up, look at it every day and cherish as well.
I save Every single card that I have received from my daughters as well as those that I receive from my grandkids, even the cute little pictures that they colored or drew when they where much younger. I throw no cards away. I save all cards I receive rather from family or friends. Have Christmas cards dated back to the 60’s.
Not only do I enjoy receiving cards but I also so enjoy sending them. I feel in some small way I’m supporting the postal service by sending cards for special occasions or just for the heck of it; letting a person know that I’m thinking of them.
