I saw this fabulous sketch across at Merry Monday and couldn't wait to play along. I made a Christmas card for the challenge, but am going to use this sketch again for a non-Christmas card.
Here's the sketch
This sketch just screams to be built around some fabulous DSP, so I dug into my stash of old Christmas paper and found this one… it's musical notes mixed with snowflakes. I thought it would be ideal.
here's my card – and, of course, I missed the submission deadline!!! 🙂
Of course, I couldn't help but add a little bling with these fabulous mirror dot rhinestones. To anchor the sentiment, I embossed a layer of Always Artichoke card stock and used that to frame the DSP as well. The card base is Naturals Ivory and was a perfect pairing for the DSP. Isn't it a cool sketch? I thought so.
On a personal note:
Well… it's raining. AGAIN! The wetland is loving it, but the birds not so much. This morning I watched two female turkeys and a black squirrel walking around in the native grasses in our woodland. They were dripping wet poor things. The basil that I planted is not doing too well, as the temps are too cool and there has been almost no sun for over a week. Luckily the temps will be improving in the next few days, but more rain in the forecast!

Isn't he gorgeous? They are definitely nesting close by as we saw three males chasing down a crow yesterday. The crow decided it was probably best to just leave and go find someone else to bug!

I am sorry you missed the deadline, but you still have another card for your stash! It’s a beauty too! Love that background. The ORIOLE is beautiful! It’s funny….a couple of weeks ago I just happened to look out across the yard and saw my oriole chasing a crow too! Never saw that before! Apparently it is not uncommon!! TFS! I just LOVE seeing all your nature photos, but of course, I am jealous!

what a fun and versatile sketch! And, what a great card! Nothing is better than adding a touch of bling at the end. The trick is knowing when to stop. ;oP
I hear ya on the rain. Believe me I do. We got even more yesterday and the backyard (which resembled your wetlands last Friday and Saturday) which was beginning to dry out was once again a soggy boggy mess. The humidity is VILE. In fact, even as I type this, the widows are all fogged over. UGH! And, I’m going out running in that today?!? I must be INSANE. :oS
The oriole makes me so happy, thank you! Since I don’t have any here, it’s always nice to see yours. :o)
Oh, and before I forget, thanks for the tip on the hummer feeder–they LOVE it!
