Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday.
Well, you all knew that The Open Sea would make an appearance this week, right? Once again I paired it with the Nautical Expeditions DSP. I went with a totally blue card for this one.
Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:
- Card stock: Night of Navy, Whisper White
- Stamps: The Open Sea. Sentiment – Papertrey Ink
- DSP: Nautical Expedition
- Inks: Night of Navy (marker for the ship), Classic Ink for the sentiment. Crumb Cake for the globe
- Accessories: Glitter Brads – basics
- Tools: I cut out the anchor using my paper snips and then covered it in Crystal Effects. Once dry, I adhered it to the sentiment – in the place of the "O" and secured it with the glitter brad. I used stampin dimensionals to lift both the ship and the anchor.
Here's a closeup of the anchor – I know you cant see the Crystal Effects, but it really is pretty cool when you touch it. It also made it much stronger, which was necessary to keep it from tearing or getting caught. I'll tell you something…. my snipping skills have certainly improved recently!
So, what do you think of this card? It reminds me of pyjama's. I love the masculine lines, the color, the addition of the metalware. I think it all adds up to a masculine card?
Here's a look at tomorrow's card:
I have some more pics of our garden tonight. I swear I could hear the plants growing…. Here's the view of our fairy garden… the ferns are really starting to take shape
Oh yes…. and what is this I see? Yes… the butterfly bush is coming back again this year. ÷YAY!!!
And.. finally for tonight, I couldn't NOT post this picture of Charlie asleep on the Chaise Lounge. Now, the reason there is a blanket on the chaise is because of the cat hair… just in case you are wondering….. now… isn't this picture preciousness itself?
Today….. I managed to sit outside for 10 minutes and eat my lunch. In between rain storms. I heard the thunder coming and thought I should come in, but decided to spend just a few more minutes out there because it was just so gorgeous. I am so glad that I did. Just as I was about to come inside, I heard this cacophony and not 1, not 2, not 3 BUT 4 ORIOLES came flying into the tree to the oranges and the jelly. You have no idea how happy that made me. Really, really, happy! We have been unable to keep them around in past years for more than a fleeting, fly-through visit. This time they have been around for a few days and to see 4 of them altogether, that was bliss!
I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday. You know that I really appreciate your visits – and your comments.
Prayers for those in need tonight, for those affected by the storms, and for those of you who just need a lift or a warm hug.
Hugs
Jaydee

Jaydee, all I can say about this card is WOW, WOW, and DOUBLE WOW!!! LOVE IT! Everything about it is wonderful!
Oh – I tried to talk a few more of the hummingbirds into heading up your way! We have three feeders and are having to fill them at least twice a day – and sometimes three times a day! I LOVE watching them, but am starting to spend more on their food than our own! LOL!

Hi Jaydee, Have just looked at your “Masculine week cards” and they are all stunning. I now have the sailaway stamp so I am getting some nice ideas from your cards. The photos of your garden are wonderful, thanks for sharing. Especially loved the photos of the humming birds. The photo of Little Charlie is indeed precious, you should put Prince in front of his name!!
Still no sign of a real atumn/fall here yet, another balmy day in Perth today, it was 30C on Mothers Day!

I think this is my favourite of ALL the masculine cards I’ve seen–not just yours. Love the blues, even if it does look a little like jammies.
Now you see this shade of green? That’s not your ferns; it’s my skin shade after reading about FOUR orioles. What a treat!
Is that low blue dish a bird bath?
I love it! Love all the blue and you are so making me want that stamp set! Aw, that is a sweet picture of Charlie. Jaydee do you feed your Orioles? We always have a few of them. Will try and get pictures of them if I can catch them at the feeder. Now ? for you? Is that a Butterfly bush or a Peony bush? Cause that looks like my Penoies that I have. My Butterfly bushes look a lot different. Just thought I would ask : )
Thanks for sharing with all of us.
Love this card Jaydee! I don’t have this stamp set yet and you are making it so hard on me LOL! This card is my favorite! It is stunning! Thanks for sharing another beautiful creation with us.
I love hummingbirds too Lynn! We have 2 or 3 that come back every year! Or at least they look like the same ones anyway! Love to watch them drink and flutter their little wings!
Prayers to all in need
You, my friend, are the snipping queen. Yes, yes you are. I’m guessing that anchor is fantabulous IRL–cameras, they just don’t capture all we wish they would, do they? And, I had to chuckle, for you are absolutely right, the card *does* remind one of jim jams! :o)
Your gardens are really starting to fill in now. Hooray! And, FOUR orioles? Color me pea green with envy. I’ve yet to have an oriole at our feeder. However, the purple finches and goldfinches continue to visit daily, and I’m fairly certain we have a hummer or two out there. :o)
Oh, that Charlie boy–what a sweet sweet puddy. :o) That has to be the luckiest cat alive. :oP
Prayers for those in need of a lift.
Hugs! :o)
What an awesome masculine card, Jaydee! The anchor is the perfect touch!
I can’t believe you cut that ship out! You know what word is going through my head. I put my hummingbird feeder out today. I can’t wait to see them. We had a goldfinch in the yard today.
Cherie and I are off to run a half in Green Bay this weekend. We made new green and gold tutus last night so we are ready to go!
