Hi Everyone. Happy Thursday!
Well, I am on a roll. I decided I was in love with my Medallion stamp and this whole yellow and black and white theme. So… I ended up making three cards using the same combo. I'm so pleased I found the "all occasion" challenge across at Moxie!
Some of you may have read the comments from my version 1 card yesterday. Well, instead of me paraphrasing – let me just cut and paste Robin's comment. "I need to buy that card!! A dear friend has her last injection of herceptin today. She's been battling bilateral breast cancer for yr and she has *won*!!!" Well, Robin has been a wonderful friend and great supporter for me and… you all know that breast cancer seems to have become a part of my life these last few months, what with Trish and *Mom* Rose and Mary Jo. Consequently, I could not resist sending last night's card to Robin – and I made the card below to send to Robin's friend directly.
I loved the way the brad echoes the medallion. Also that I managed to get the medallion stamped on the label to match up with the medallion stamped in the background. I decided to color my Basic Pearls for this card as they fit better with the brad. You may recognize this layout. It's from the casestudy challenge card that I made here. I think it is going to become one of my favorite layouts.
Mmm… now… if only I could have gotten the ribbon to stay down when I took the picture. I decided to ink up the label with a little black ink to soften the edges and also ground it. It also helps to tie the black sentiment into the black background and scalloped edge top. Here's the simple treatment I did on the inside.
Tomorrow I have a sneak preview for you! A new stamp set from the occasions mini, plus accessories. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this set and have already made two cards with it! Tomorrow, I will also have a couple more pics from our recent trip to Europe to share with you. AND…. tomorrow I have a little blog candy to share… so don't forget to come back!
Card recipe – all supplies Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:
- Card stock: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Basic Black
- Stamps: Medallion background stamp. Sentiment – Signature Greetings, (Papertrey Ink)
- Accessories: Basic Pearls (hand colored by me), Vintage Brads, Daffodil Delight satin ribbon, Bracket Edger punch (EK Success), Tag Die (Sizzix)
- Tools: Big Shot, Stampin' Dimensionals (the tag is attached using dimensionals)
So… what do you think of tonight's combo using essentially the same tools as last night? I had to change the sentiment as it wouldn't fit on the tag!
Prayers tonight for: Rose, Arthur, Germaine, Pri. Soozie and her Mom. Adelle. For those of you who need a little lift.

Oh Jaydee, this is FABulous! I love the tag element and how it finishes the medallion. I have never seen the medallion used this way–so unique and clever! Love the sentiment, the brad, the pearls — who am I kidding? I love it ALL! {hugs} 🙂
