Hi Everyone.
Happy Monday. It's really late here, but I did want to pop in and share a card I made for the CaseThisSketch challenge this week.
I'm back making cards for Cards for Hospitalized Kids and I saw this amazing set across at Hero Arts as part of their Monthly Card Kit and realized that Mermaids and girls were…well… a pretty cool combination. So, I used the sketch and some of the elements of the Hero Arts kit to create a card
Here's the sketch
I used the mermaid stamp and die – as well as the die for the coral to create this card. It was amazingly simple to put together and think that the opaque vellum works really well for the coral. I had to create a smaller than normal card to accommodate the coral, but am so happy with the result and hope that one of the girls will really love it.
Before I share the whole card, I wanted to share a closeup that shows the vellum coral and the detail on the mermaid:
Here's my card:
Isn't this the coolest set? I must admit that I was never a mermaid fan as a kid… but they certainly have grown on me 🙂
On a personal note:
I wanted to share a photo of some of our newest residents in the wetland. We have had a couple of Canadian Honkers – aka Canadian Geese living just the other side of our property and they visit the bird feeders in the hope that some of the smaller birds have dropped some seed:
In fact… we have two pair…. isn't that cool?
I'll be back in a couple of days with another card made using this same set – and it's a card that will also be sent to Cards for Hospitalized Kids.
In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
And…. prayers for the families and for those who lost their lives in Manchester tonight. Manchester is very close to my home town – just 40 minutes away and so many of those affected were young girls. My mind cannot compute the evil that decides to do this. There is a special place in hell for people who perpetrate such evil.

Fabulous take on the sketch!
Lovely card . . . love mermaids!! As far as Manchester, it is beyond understanding how can people perpetrate this kind of acts. So sad for the families . . . we can only have them in our prayers.
Marina . . . from far Africa
I know, I know, I’m behind in my commenting. :{ Trying to get caught up on my favorite blogs.
Been busy with my small garden, canning and trying to get my 16×24 shed built. Just never a dull moment here and always something to do.
What an adorable Mermaid card. Just enough of a sparkle in her hair. Such a cute and sweet card.
Nice to see the geese have come back to your territory. I’d say that they enjoy your wetlands.
