Metallic French Foliage part 2

Hi Everyone.  Happy Thursday.

Oh.  yeah!  One more day to the weekend!  I don't know about you, but I am SO ready for a weekend.

On this post I promised to show you another card made using this technique.   This time, I created an autumn card with the technique on a tag.  Note the colors of the oak leaves behind the card and how they echo the colors in the tag!

It's hard to see, but I used a woodgrain stencil and some Crumb Cake ink on the Early Espresso base.  It's pretty subtle, but does add a little interest to the base of the card.

You may be wondering what that "stuff" is in the button?  Well, it's actually the new burlap ribbon.  I cut a piece and frayed it.  I love the texture that it leaves from the weaving and the fact that it's really sturdy.  I have to say, I love the texture of the frost on the rail of the deck, too 🙂

On a personal note:

Terri, so glad I am not the only one who makes/buys cards and then doesn't get around to sending them!

Doris, can you come around and do my windows?  If you do, I'll go round and organize Marge's craft room and Terri's, too! 🙂

Cindy, I'm in awe of you and Colleen and being all finished with your Christmas cards!  Oh, and Colleen… way to go on the three labellers!

Kelly, your husband is right… I often feel like the cobbler who doesn't mend his children's shoes!  I make so many cards and they just sit in my craft room!  Oh… and yes. I agree.  It is a wonderful world we live in.  We are really so blessed here in the US.  Never I have been this close to such a diverse set of flora and fauna on my front door – and I've lived on 4 continents!

Marina, bless you for making cards for a cause.  I love that you manage to come together as a community and create and share the spirit of Christmas!

Diane, thanks for posting about the availability of Endless Wishes!  Rach – it's now available!

Georgie, so glad that last night's card made you feel contentment.  I hadn't looked at it like that until I read your comment.  There is something very peaceful and serene about it.

As always, thank you for your visits and your comments.  I really do appreciate them. I know I say that every blog post – but it is really true!

I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I am going to settle down with my supper tonight and watch the Voice to see who gets to stay around!

Before I go… I wanted to share this little video with you.  It just proves that cats are cats regardless of how big they grow!  Check this video

Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.  I'll be back on Saturday with my Paper Players card.

Hugs

Jaydee

Oh! What a delightful video! How cute are the two of them?
    Hugs!
    P.S. Hi Lou!

  2. I so agree with Rach, that this technique does make the most beautiful Fall cards. Your tag card is stunning.
    Enjoy your weekend.
Didn’t know whether or not to mention this but will go ahead and do so anyway.
All of my Christmas cards are signed, addressed and stamped and resting on my dining room table all ready to be mailed in a few weeks.
I’m ready to start on next years supply. Can’t do anything outside with the rain we had so might as well work on cards before my holiday baking begins.
Have a wonderful and enjoyable weekend
