More Merry Messages for Paper Players #113

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

Nance is our fabulous hostess across at the Paper Players this week and she has a wonderful CAS challenge for us.

CAS September
I had an idea to make a Christmas card using this theme and, of course, had to use Gumball Green.  I really am loving the vibrancy of this new color.  Here's my take on the challenge:

More Merry Messages PP113

This really was a quick and simple card to make.   I already had a piece of Very Vanilla that I had run through my Big Shot with the new bark embossing folder.  All I had to do is trim it a little.

I cut three pieces of the Be of Good Cheer DSP to slightly different lengths and adhered them to the textured layer.   I then stamped the sentiment from More Merry Messages onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using Basic Black.  I took the holly from the Watercolor Winter set and inked it up using Crumb Cake.  I off stamped it onto a piece of scrap paper and then stamped it again over the sentiment.  The holly stamp worked well with the sentiment :-)   All that was left was to adhere the sentiment to the Gumball Green layer using dimensionals and adhere to the base.  Very quick and very easy!

The design team certainly did many different things with this theme challenge.  I hope you will check out their designs on their blogs and then join us and play along.

On a personal note:
Life has been hectic the last few days.  Lou has been away – as always 🙂 and I have been trying to get so many projects finished at work so that I can go on vacation at the end of next week!   Lou and I still have so much left to do before Pam and John arrive on Thursday.  Yes….they arrive in just a few days!  We were running around today buying fittings for the closet cos, well, they need somewhere to hang their clothes, right?  We also needed pillows and toothbrush holders and all the sorts of things that we realized we didn't have!  We are just about done shopping and now have to go finish up their room and finish up a few things around the house and then we will be ready!
If the weather keeps up like it is right now, it will be gorgeous when they arrive.   Late 70s in the day and down into the late 40s overnight.  Clear skies, bright sunshine.  Perfect fall weather!   We are so excited and cannot wait for them to arrive!
As always, thank you for visiting my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

  1. SUPER cute, Jaydee! Great take on the challenge; it’s fun to see what I consider an “inside” sentiment on the outside of your card! I may have to borrow this idea!!!

  2. “Be of Good Cheer” certainly describes this card, Jaydee! Love the mix of patterns on your banners and I like that you didn’t string them up–a great way to showcase a different kind of banner. Great job with the challenge!

  3. Jaydee, your clean and simple cards are always the best! The patterns “pop” against the Very Vanilla, which looks amazing with Gumball Green! LOVE it!

  4. Such a festive card, Jaydee! Love the woodgrain embossing and the bits of pretty patterns you added with the banners. The patterns add so much without taking over the card. That sentiment is wonderful, too. Hugs! 🙂

  5. This is a fabulous Christmas card Jaydee! Love the woodgrain texture of the vanilla panel, combined with the pops of colour from the cute banners. 🙂
