Hi Everyone. Happy Friday.
Well, I am ALMOST done with the OWH cards. Not yet though! So, I still can't give you a total yet – but it's a reasonable amount :-) Once all the cards have been packaged off, then I can start on the slide shows. In the meantime, I wanted to share another couple of teaser cards with you.
I can honestly say that the photographs can never do these wonderful cards justice. This drive has proven once again that I have an amazingly talented group of followers and I cannot tell you how proud I was to package their cards and send them off to the troops. Each and every card had something special about it and Lou and I were lucky to get to appreciate all of them in hand!
Tonight we start with Marcia. This card is a fabulous masculine card.
The Crumb Cake base is a perfect backdrop to the Cherry Cobbler and Night of Navy. I cannot tell you how tactile this card is. Not just the texture from the embossing folder, but the technique that Marcia used to perfection on the sails. She stamped the boat onto vellum and then used her stylus to turn the vellum white and puffy. Genius touch! Everything about this card has a nautical feel and is tied together beautifully. A perfect masculine card.
Let's go to something more feminine! Rach is the queen of one layer cards and this card is no exception!
I love the strong colors and the trailing leaves. The addition of the falling flowers was a masterful move and ensures that your eye continues to travel around the card. The blue stamped background gives the feel of a small window surrounded by flowers growing on a trellis. It's a little pop of summer on a card! The sentiment is perfectly placed and the whole card is beautifully composed. A great example to show that one layer cards can still be incredibly interesting!
I'll have some more teaser cards for you on Sunday and can't wait to share them with you.
On a personal note:
Thank you to those of you who left comments on my 9/11 post. I also appreciated those of you who shared your own reasons for participating in the OWH drive. It was very moving to read them.
I have a couple more photographs to share with you tonight. I was working on getting the second batch of cards ready for OWH when I turned around and noticed that Charlie was fast asleep on the couch in front of the window. He was OUT!
What a sweet little face! I just love the uneven markings on his face and his nose markings that, as my blog readers have pointed out, either resemble a modern label punch, or a Christmas tree!
Whilst I was uploading more of the OWH cards onto my Apple, I also uploaded some of the shots from our trip.
We visited the Museum of Alexander Graham Bell. I was astonished to learn just how many things he had been involved in. It was a fascinating trip. Here is a full scale model of his design for the hydrofoil. Who knew that he'd invented the hydrofoil boat? Not me! Now, everytime we get on one of those massive hydrofoils that cross the English channel – I'll think about Alexander Graham Bell! Now, as impressive as Alec was, it was his wife, Mabel, that had me in awe!
We also visited one of the most amazing places on earth – Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia. I'll share some photos of that trip on another blog post, but wanted to share a number plate that was on a car parked at Peggy's Cove.
That… should have been my number plate! 🙂
I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card. In the meantime, thank you for your visit. Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift.
Hugs
Jaydee

So, there I was scrolling along, and SURPRISE! I know that card!! :oP Thank you for your kind words. I *did* make rather a bunch of one layer cards, didn’t I…? I just thought they’d mail so much better.
Marcia’s card is so fabulous! I LOVE the vellum sails and need to pin this because it was a brilliant idea!
That Charlie is too cute for words. His nose has always drawn me in. George is my crafting buddy. :o)
I had no idea Mr. Bell had invented the hydrofoil boat–I LOVE learning something new every day!
And, love that kitty cat–so did Lil. ;o)
Hugs!
P.S. Hi Lou!
Once again the OWH cards are outstanding. Loved the one layer card and the flowers falling off the card. And the sails on the sailboat card are beautiful. I forget about this technique. Thanks for sharing these beautiful cards.
