My Digital Studio – SU sneak peek!

Hi Everyone

Happy Saturday.  Three quick things before I show you some of the things I'm working on in the new Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio.  I'd like to say a HUGE thank you to the Divas across at stamping411 Patterned Pines wsc
for choosing my Heard from the Heart Christmas card as one of their faves this week.  :-)

Their challenges usually take me out of my comfort zone and I don't think I would have been inspired to create this card had it not been for their sketch.  So many thanks to the stamping411 team for choosing one of my cards this week – go check out their site and play along!

Secondly, HUGE shout-out to Adelle – who became a grandma to a beautiful baby grand-daughter in the last two days.  Congratulations, Adelle.  Hugs and blessings to you all!

Thirdly, I apologize to all of you who visit every day… I did not get an update onto my blog last night.  I generally post every day and hated not doing so yesterday.  However, all you gals out there will forgive me when you hear why.  I went to the hairdresser last night to have my roots done….. well… I did get my roots done…. I was blonde when they started fixing my roots… "shall we go one shade darker?" asked my hairdresser innocently.  Sure, I don't mind a little depth in color.  Well….. mmmm…. let's define DEPTH shall we?  I started off blonde and ended up chestnut – seriously – the color of roasted chestnuts.  Well, I'm not sure about you gals, but I'd say that was a little more than one shade darker!  There isn't even a SU color I can suggest that even fits what color my hair was.  Consequently, I was at the hairdresser for almost 5 hours and I'm now a redhead with chestnut lowlights!  I think my DH might be a little surprised when I go to meet him at the airport in a few hours! Well, I guess the upside is that I don't have to dye my eyebrows this week 🙂  So…. I hope you will all forgive me.

Now… onto more exciting things….. not that my reaction looking at myself in the mirror at the hairdresser wasn't exciting 🙂   I've been playing around with my newly arrived My Digital Studio and am absolutely loving it.  It's so easy to use and really intuitive – and flexible.  Even my upline – who is not technically inclined at all, managed to do several pages in a couple of hours, get them uploaded and even share them around!

I've created a couple of different pages for you.  I'm working on a project to capture our trip to the Ancient Empires on Azamara Quest last year and I wanted to make a coffee table book – as opposed to a traditional scrap book.  So, here are a couple of pages for you.  You can see day 1 and day 4.  For day 1, I used a picture as my backdrop and for day 4 I used card stock – in this case basic grey.  I haven't trimmed off the grey on page 1 yet 🙂

Page 4 uses a couple of traditional scrapping elements. The great thing is, that if I wanted to create a hybrid project, I could put the real buttons over the ones on the page and they would be exactly the same size and color.   way cool!

The final page I have for you, is a more traditional scrap page.  I took this picture of our deck last Christmas.  For those of you who follow my blog… you will know that I love SU's Dasher.  You can see why, looking at the reindeer on my deck, that I was so thrilled to find Dasher in the catalog this year:-)

So, three totally different pages for you to have a look at.  I'm really looking forward to finishing up the cruise coffee table book.  I chose "peace" for the traditional scrap page, because that's exactly what the view was from the window… incredibly peaceful and just absolutely picture perfect.  It's my favorite season of the year!

Now, I'm off to go find a brown paper bag, so that I can cut two holes in it for my eyes… make sure it fits over my head… so that I don't have to show my DH my hair when he arrives at the airport.  :-)

As always, thank you for visiting my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  Your visit is always appreciated – as are your comments and emails.

Have a fabulous Saturday.

Peace
Jaydee

Hot off the press….. as I told Carole'Anne… I arrived at the airport…met my DH and he said… love the hair cut…. HAIR CUT….. I had 1" removed from my hair… but my hair went from Sahara Sand to somewhere between Really Rust and Chocolate Chip and he didn't notice….obviously he's been away too long 🙂

  1. Good day Jaydee. so sorry to hear about your hair story, I have to admit I am kinda laughing, I am sorry, it’s just a cute story.
now I have to ask, where’s the photo of your transformation? would love to see what the new you looks like! 🙂
oh by the way, I love the music, when I go to your site. you rock Jaydee

  2. Hi Carole’Ann – thanks for your comments and making me smile! 🙂 So… to make the story even funnier…. I get to the airport to pick up my DH and what does he say? “Hey, love your hair CUT!”…. hellllllllooooo…. I used to be blonde…. and my hair is the same length – except for 1 inch! Oh, well! There you go. And I guess you don’t want to know how much time I spent with color samples of the SU paper trying to work out what color my new hair color might resemble.
Have a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by.
    Hugs
    Jaydee

  3. Husbands are so funny! Mine doesn’t notice my hair color or cut until 4 days later!haha.. My boys however, will tell me when I need to color since they are now taller than me!!
hang in there because hair does grow and Enjoy your new looki!!

  4. Oh Poor Jaydee…on the other hand I bet you look stunning as a redhead and obviously – and not to be overly salacious – your dear Hubby was probably noticing other more interesting parts of your anatomy and skipped the hair entirely! 😀 After all aren’t the eyes the gateway to the soul (and here you thought I meant something naughty…..).- LoL!
Seriously though a bad day at the salon is never fun though thankfully most disasters can either be fixed or grow out in time. After all there’s always the chance that next time you’ll emerge a blonde but with a buzz cut!
Love the pages. Your flair for layout and design definitely goes further than cards and your Italian trip intro has me waiting to hear the rest of the story as well as seeing the rest of the pages! Aren’t seagulls interesting little beggers? When I lived in Santa Barbara, Calif they were more common in my backyard than robins or any other normal neighborhood bird.
Funny somehow I missed that you lived in Rochester (memory is one of the first things to go I guess) Last time I was there was in the 1960’s when my BIL was in Medical School and my nephew was a newborn in need of an Aunt’s helping hands so Mom could get some sleep! I bet the city has grown considerably since then! Though I daresay it still snows in April and starts up again in early September! BRRRR! Good thing you have your own Dasher on the deck to keep your heart warm and your holidays fun. Tell him and the furfaces hi for me and hug your redheaded self extra too!
    Hugs – Jean
