Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
Sorry I have been AWOL for the last couple of nights. On Thursday we were advised that the saga of the furniture was not yet over. The sofa, which was shipped a month ago, has gone AWOL. MIA. Done a runner. Skipped the country. Who knows what it has done. All we know is that Restoration Hardware have absolutely NO idea where it is. None. They have been looking for it for over a week and are no closer to finding it. It also happened to have been the last one in the warehouse. Oh, dear! Consequently, when Lou got home on Friday from his trip this week, we went off to see if we could find a replacement. There are a couple of replacements, but as we need a 9 foot sofa, they are all custom made and not stocked. Delivery time? Early October. We got back late last night – very disappointed, very frustrated and still couchless.
I don't have a card for you tonight. I haven't been able to spend any time stamping this week and didn't get into my stamping space to make my Paper Players card for this week yet, either. I'm hoping to spend some time in my space tomorrow.
I do have a photograph for you. Guess who returned to our neck of the woods? Yep. My nemesis. This time I wasn't eye to eye with him, thank goodness. He parked himself on top of the stump… I am so pleased we stopped them from taking out this tree stump! He sat there for a good 15 minutes. 5 of those minutes the red-shouldered blackbird dive bombed him and try to get him to leave. (I know you will like that, Cherie!) I'd like to think that it was the mate of the female that my nemesis had flushed into the office window the other day. If you didn't read that story, you can read it on this post. Eventually, he saw something in the grass, swooped down onto the ground, then exited stage left!
Here he is
I'm sorry it's not such a great shot. It was a very overcast day and I had to take the photo through the patio door! He sure is a beautiful bird. You can read all about him on the cornell site – here.
Well, Lou is away again. Yep.. he got back and left 36 hours later! So, I am off to go feed the pussycats, then get myself some dinner and sit down and watch the Olympics. Track and Field. My favorite!
As always, thank you for spending time in my little area of the stamping blogosphere. Your visits and your comments are very much appreciated.
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

How can you lose a sofa?? Good luck on finding a new one. And It IS a beautiful picture. As always, thanks for sharing. I look forward to reading your blog every evening!
Glad you are okay. The couch is just another huge bump in the road to having the perfect place for you. Perhaps the “next” one will be even better. I don’t know why we all have to face these complications when we are trying to do things. I guess they call it “life”. Doesn’t mean we have to like it. Keep Calm and Carry On!!!!
The hawk picture is stunning. Don’t know why you don’t see it that way. Hawks carry messages and I love it when I see one. Everything has it place in the cycle.
Hope next week goes better for you.
Sally, I do see the red tailed as stunning. The only reason he is called my nemesis in this post is because of the way he looked at me when he was about eat his breakfast 2 feet from me on my porch! 🙂 All creatures have their place in the cycle of life and are welcomed into our garden. well, mosquitoes not so much 🙂
Jaydee
So glad you kept the perch for the hawk to rest on. Such a majestic picture. Nature is wonderful! Looking forward to a card or two next week.
Hi Jaydee! Gorgeous picture of a very majestic bird. I love it! You have this natural talent to take pictures…even through a window. I’d love to get some of those shots Jaydee. I take hundreds and most get erased. Good thing for digital. lol! So sorry to hear about your couch. How frustrating! They better be doing something special for you since they LOST it! Please tell us that is the case. Good grief!
Hi Jaydee–loved reading your adventures with Mr Redtail. We’ve had similar encounters with hawks at our bird feeder and tho I’ve never interfered, I have to admit to sending a warning now and then. I’ve also shooed cats away when they view the feeder as “fast food”. I guess there are always some critters we love more than others. Thanks for sharing your stories and cards. I hope your couch turns up–as Ann says “how can you lose a sofa?”
That sorta happened to us when we got a new sofa. Only it was a set~sofa, love seat & recliner. They blamed it on a worker there that was in his 80’s! I got fed up & told them to refund my $$ & we went elsewhere. I found a 3 piece set I liked, plus a entertainment center & computer desk for the same price of the 3 pc. set at the original store.
Great Hawk picture. We had baby raccoons destroy a Cardinal nest in our Autumn Olive tree/bush. I was so looking forward to a Cardinal family. With our dry, hot summer, they must have been here looking for water. Beth
Oh my, that hawk is simply stunning, Jaydee! I’m pleased to see you weren’t being given the stink-eye in this photo. ;o)
I’m so very sorry about the sofa snafu. That’s awful. I’m never sure which is worse, the fact you paid money for something that has disappeared, or the fact you have no sofa. Ugh!
I’m also sorry to hear you’ve had to travel so extensively of late, Lou. Wishing you safe travels and a speedy return.
Jaydee, I’m so sorry Lou’s traveling. That’s always so hard.
Big hugs!
After all that you have been through..moving and working You sound tired in this little message.
Hope you can get a chance to refresh and create awhile.
All your pictures are lovely. My DH loves hawks but I’m a cardinal and hummingbird fan.
Hope Lou’s home soon. Do the fur babies seem to be adjusting?
