Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday night.
Thanks to all of you who left comments on my Sail Away card last night. It almost didn't sea/see (ha… ha… ha..) the light of day! I really wasn't happy with it until I finished putting it together. At one point I had made up my mind to just finish it because I had putzed around with it so much. But don't you know…. once it was altogether, I decided I really did like it!
Saturday is the Paper Players challenge reveal night. This week Lesley has a fabulous sketch for us. Here's the sketch:
I couldn't resist inking up the Fabulous Florets set. I really do think this is one of the prettiest floral sets that Stampin Up! has created. I can see that it is going to be a favorite of mine for a while!
This sketch really took me out of my element…. the vertical sentiment with the vertical element is something that I generally don't do….. but you know the deal… that's the reason to do challenges. To take you outside of your normal comfort zone! I really enjoyed playing with the sketch and created two cards with it. Here's my one using the Fabulous Florets.
Four of the elements are sneak peeks from the upcoming mini/the new 2011-2012 catalog.
Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up!
- Card stock: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Old Olive
- Stamps: Fabulous Florets (image). On the Grow (sentiment). Four Frames (patterned frame around the sentiment). I love the fact that the Four Frames fits so beautifully with the Decorative Label Punch!
- DSP: Beyond the Garden
- Tools: Scallop punch, Basic Pearls. Stampin' Dimensionals. Paper snips.
Tip: Coloring the flower is so simple with blender pens and classic inks. Popping it on Stampin Dimensionals gives it more dimension… but, to add even more, try using a pen, your bone folder, or some other implement, to turn up the edges of the flower just a little.
Now.. it's your turn. Don't forget to join the Paper Players this week. We can't wait to see what creations you share with us.
I hope you all have a fabulous Easter and that your weekend is relaxing and filled with love, laughter, family, friends – and the things that make you happy.
Hugs
Jaydee
