Papillion Potpourri for Paper Players Challenge # 112

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

As most of you know by now, Saturday is the night of the Paper Players challenge.  Lesley chose a fabulous color scheme for us this week.

September
I also saw a great sketch across at OWH

Once I saw the sketch, I knew that I wanted to use the Papillon Potpourri set from the new catalog.  Here's what I came up with:

Papillion Potpourri

I stamped the butterfly in Baja Breeze and then "rolled" the edges on my Basic Gray pad.  Cutting out the butterflies was a cinch with the new Butterfly Punch.

You can probably just see the En Francais background stamp that was used on both the Baja Breeze and Black front layers.    Of course, I had to add some basic pearls to the butterflies to finish them off.

Hint:  Want to keep the wings on your butterflies lifted?   The way that I do that is to

  1. Bend the butterflies in the middle
  2. Add glue to the middle part only and adhere to the base
  3. Take your Stampin' Dimensionals and cut a very thin strip across one of the edges of a pack of the dimensionals
  4. Lift the wing of the butterfly and add a small piece of the strip – just less than the height of the butterfly wing – to the inner edge of the butterfly.
  5. Repeat on both sides

This little trick will keep your butterfly wings lifted, even when the card goes through the post.

We hope that you will play along with us this week.  The color challenge is really versatile – as you can see from the design team inspiration cards!

On a personal note:
Fall is definitely on the way.  I cannot believe how quickly the leaves are changing color.  I went out onto the deck last night and the setting sun was catching some of the trees.  The sky was a gorgeous color and a flock of Canadian Geese came overhead.  It was gorgeous.  I took a picture, but it really doesn't do it justice

The geese were moving so quickly, that I only managed to get two of them in the shot!  They were making lots of noise, too!
I'll be back tomorrow night with details on the OWH card drive.   I really do hope that you will join me in this great cause.
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
