Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
As most of you know by now, Saturday is the night of the Paper Players challenge. Lesley chose a fabulous color scheme for us this week.
I also saw a great sketch across at OWH
Once I saw the sketch, I knew that I wanted to use the Papillon Potpourri set from the new catalog. Here's what I came up with:
I stamped the butterfly in Baja Breeze and then "rolled" the edges on my Basic Gray pad. Cutting out the butterflies was a cinch with the new Butterfly Punch.
You can probably just see the En Francais background stamp that was used on both the Baja Breeze and Black front layers. Of course, I had to add some basic pearls to the butterflies to finish them off.
Hint: Want to keep the wings on your butterflies lifted? The way that I do that is to
- Bend the butterflies in the middle
- Add glue to the middle part only and adhere to the base
- Take your Stampin' Dimensionals and cut a very thin strip across one of the edges of a pack of the dimensionals
- Lift the wing of the butterfly and add a small piece of the strip – just less than the height of the butterfly wing – to the inner edge of the butterfly.
- Repeat on both sides
This little trick will keep your butterfly wings lifted, even when the card goes through the post.
We hope that you will play along with us this week. The color challenge is really versatile – as you can see from the design team inspiration cards!
- Card stock: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Whisper White, Baja Breeze
- Stamps: Papillion Potpourri. Sentiment: Friendly Phrases. Script background: En Francais
- Inks: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze
- Accessories: Basic Pearls
