Pinkfresh Studio Lantern Landscapes Warm & Toasty, Great Catch and Best Adventure

Happy Wednesday.

I have a different card for you today. There is a facebook group called Because Kindness. People who are looking to brighten the day of another person reach out and ask for cards to be sent. Today’s card was made for a gentleman here in Mn who loves camping and fishing. Apparently he has dementia and loves to bring out a box of old cards that he has received over the years and pours over them. So his card angel asked that we send him some new ones to add to his collection. Who could resist that request?

I had the perfect stencil set called Lantern Landscapes. It was part of the Create and Connect earlier this year where we concentrated on more masculine cards. I wanted to try to find a way to incorporate both fishing and camping into the card, and the scene stencils that came with the set were the perfect way to do that. There are three sets covered here: Warm and Toasty – which is the front cover of the acetate card. Then Great Adventure and Best Catch.

I decided to make an acetate card so that I could create 2 different lanterns with a different scene on 3 sides.

Here’s the frot of the card. If you look closely you can just see the acetate card behind the images.

The sentiment is from the accompanying stamp set and I loved the idea of the marshamallows toasting on an open fire. You can just see the second set of lanterns behind the one in front. I added one lantern to the front of the card, another one with the camping images onto the verso side. The inside recto side has the fish image. I added lantern outlines on both sides of each half of the acetate card so that you wouldn’t see any tape.

On the inside of the front cover is the Best Adventure stencil. It was a little hard to capture as there was a reflection from the fish stencil portion!

I just couldn’t get a photo without the fish showing up! I also noticed when I was doing my post that one secton of the lantern isn’t quite adhered. So, I will have to go and fix that before I send it off:-)

The inside of the acetate card has the fish as the main focal point.

On the back of the fish is a plain white panel tucked inside the lantern so that I can write a quick sentiment. I hope the recipient will enjoy looking at all of these different elements.

I tried to capture what the inside of the card looks like:

Well, that’s all from me today. I am off to put this card into the post. I’ll be back on Friday with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

  • Dies: Lantern Landscapes – Pinkfresh Studio
  • Stencills: Warm and toasty – outside image. BestAdventure – inside verso image. Great Catch – inside recto image.

Hugs

Yes, me too. My updates disappeared and this is the first one for a while. I hope I start getting them again as I’ve missed them even though I do check into your blog.
