Playful Pieces and Elegant Lines

Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday night.

I got to spend some time in my stamping space today, where it was nice and cool and there are lots of new goodies to play with:-)  I made a variety of cards today, in fact, looking at them, I find it hard to believe that I made all of them – they vary from very CAS to my version of vintage!  So, lots to share with you over the next week.

Tonight's card is one of the clean and simple ones.  I visited two challenge sites:  cardpatterns for the sketch and shabbytearoom were having a challenge to emboss this week.  So… I couldn't resist doing a CAS card with embossing! 🙂  I really encourage you to go check out the sites and see what the creative design teams have put together for us

I decided to use two of my new stamp sets – Playful Pieces and Occasional Quotes.   They are both Level 3 hostess sets.  For the embossing, I used my new Elegant Lines embossing folder (119277).  Add a little Concord Crush and Whisper White card stock and a little silver embossing powder and elastic cord… and we are good to go!

Here's my wedding card:

Sorry about the shadows… it was so bright when I took this pic…

You can see the Elegant Lines embossing folder on the Concord Crush background.  I stamped one of the present boxes from the Playful Pieces onto Concord Crush card stock and then embossed with silver embossing powder.  The shapes on the box echo the embossed background and the silver looks great against the Concord Crush.

I tied 3 knots of elastic cord and added them above the boxes.  I cut down the boxes a little to make the dimensions better fit with this project.

Both the Concord Crush layer – and the boxes themselves, are adhered using dimensionals.  The sentiment was stamped in Concord Crush.

The thing I love about this, is that it can be changed up for any wedding colors, or changed up to be a birthday card.  So, the layout worked really well and I loved the added texture.

On a personal note… a little cooler today.  YAY!   Farmer's Market tomorrow morning.  DOUBLE YAY!  Then off to listen to Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto # 5 tomorrow.  TRIPLE YAY!  So, not stamping for me tomorrow, but hopefully I will get some done on Sunday.

Tonight, more cards arrived for the card drive – WTG Adelle, you ROCK!  Not only did we get cards for the card drive, but there was a wonderful present in there for me….. I was ecstatic.  I will be taking a picture of the present on Sunday and will load it so that you can all drool at it.  It really is fabulous!

Prayers as always for Trish, Germaine, Missy, Jim/Lynn, T, Pri, Rach and Missy.

I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing, cool Saturday.  Filled with laughter and love.

hugs

Jaydee

  1. This is beautiful and you’re right – it could be used for a birthday gift. You always have everything just in the perfect place. Enjoy your day tomorrow.

  2. Dual duty cards, I love them. Yours here is super, duper sweet. Love that embossing Folder, and what you did to the Presents. How rich the two colors look together. I think that the silver really looks much more regal than a white would have looked had you used it. A little cooler where you are…you must have sent it all down here. We were hotter that h**l, and humid too. I have seen the extended forecast and we are not due for any breaks soon. Those poor people that have to work outside in this heat. I really feel for anyone that doesn’t have air conditioning because the fans are just blowing around hot air. I had to go out today to Hospital for a couple of appointments and just being in the heat and humidity for a short time made me swell up and feel awful. Now I have to stay put with my legs up. Boo-hoo. Your links tonight led me half way around the WWW, each Site led to a new Site which led to another Site and so forth. I think it took me over 2 hours to find my way back to you. I loved looking all over the place and seeing new and different things. Thanks for the Links. Enjoy Tchaikovsky tomorrow, I so envy you. Stay safe, have fun and may you be Blessed.
Prayers and Well Wishes for Everyone of my Friends in Need. I do hope that they are helping in some small way.
