Hi Everyone.
Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a Tic-Tac-Toe board for us.
I chose the right vertical column: green, any embossing and sequins. I'm trying to make some more Christmas cards, so this seemed like the perfect challenge for a Christmas card.
I started by embossing the pine leaves and the petals from the poinsettia. I found a photo that shows more green leaves and used that as my inspiration, especially as I needed to add more green to meet the challenge 🙂
I colored the plant with Copic markers and love the gold embossing with the richness of the reds and greens
Then I used my matching dies to die cut the pine leaves and the poinsettia. I created a green frame for my card using my stacking rectangle dies and adhered that to my card base. I stamped the sentiment in the opposite corner to where my arrangement was going to be. I added the florals with some foam dots and some parts adhered directly to the card base.
Oh…. I then remembered I needed to add sequins! Perfect solution was to add two layered sequins to the middle – here they are:
I don't know where the flower one in the middle came from. I think it was from a very old Simon Says Stamp card kit. It was perfect though:-)
Here's my full card:
I kept the inside of the card very simple.
I hope you will join us and play along this week. We'd love to see what you make using this Tic-Tac-Toe board. The design team have some incredible inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
OK…. it went from early 90s to the early 40s and I'm cold 🙂 I am SO not ready for the winter season. Mind you, Lou and I did spend some time changing out the curtains and putting out pumpkins and changing the batteries on the candles. The family room is looking a little warmer and rosier. Today, we are off to the nursery to get some pumpkins for the front porch and Lou is changing out the wreaths on the door. I might not be ready for the cold weather, but we are going to embrace it and go put on a jumper 🙂
Do you see what is nestled against the wreath?
Generally he hangs around behind the cushion on the chair on the front porch, but this day he chose to hang out on the front door instead.
Here's a closer look at him:
As we had our first frost yesterday, I'm guessing that we won't be seeing much of him how until next year.
I'm off to my craft room to spend some quality time with inks and paper. I'll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Simply stunning, Jaydee! So much beautiful shading on those poinsettia leaves. I’m right there with you on creating Christmas cards, I have been on a roll wit them lately. I hope I remember to actually mail them out on time this year. Ha! Sounds like it’s beginning to feel a lot like fall in your neck of the woods. I was just happy it got below 90 degrees this week. Enjoy some of that beautiful fall weather for me!
GORgeous poinsettia, just beautifully colored and embossed in gold! I have to confess, I have no idea what’s hiding in your wreath!!! I am glad it’s not quite as cold here, it’s cooled off a bit, but it’s going to warm up for a few days before it settles into FALL!
Oh wow! Absolutely beautiful!
You chose the perfect column for a Christmas card, and a beautiful card it is! Love the simplicity.
This card is so soft and lovely, Jaydee. Great work! And it took me a bit to see your little buddy on the door but what a sweet surprise. Happy October!
So rich, so clean, so beautiful! Love it, Jaydee.
Beautiful, Jaydee! So clean and elegant…and perfectly colored!
Jaydee, this is so beautiful! I love poinsettia’s and this one is gorgeous! Your shading on the leaves is perfect! The green frame on the white just makes that beauty pop! Such a lovely sentiment, too! I am sorry it is already so chilly there. It is still 90 in the ATL. I am not ready for cooler days. I love it HOT! Have a fabulous weekend, My Friend! XX
Jaydee I just love everything about this card – the watercolouring, festive colours and the touches of gold, not to mention all that white space. A stunning Christmas card!
