Hi Everyone, happy Saturday.
It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great color challenge for us.
I decided to go with Black, White, Silver and Pink. Mmm… it seems to have been a bit of a "pink" week for me!
I used the Rubbernecker Poppy Trio for my focal image. I stamped them with Silver Encore ink and then used Silver embossing powder for my silver element. As I had stamped them onto watercolor paper, it was the ideal opportunity for me to use my Zig Real Brush watercolor markers for the pink.
I then fussy cut around each of the flowers so that they better fit the design I had in mind. I finished the card off by tying a piece of Fun Stampers Journey Black Twine around the stems of the flowers and
Here's my card:
I love the combo of the black, silver, white and pink. The neutrals really make the pink pop. This card is ready to go into our next card drive 🙂
The design team have outdone themselves yet again! I hope you will check out their creations and then come back and play along with us.
On a personal note:
Well, we might have had temps in the high 60s this week, but we are back down to more normal temperatures today! It's the first week in November – and finally fall is in the air 🙂
Lou and I celebrated our anniversary last month. I was down at Disney World on business and Lou was in Pittsburgh, so he flew down to Disney and join me and we spent the weekend having some fun. One of the absolute highlights of our trip was having dinner at the Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge's restaurant called Sanaa. Our waitress was a little surprised when I greeted her in her home language – Zulu and it was wonderful to see her instantaneous grin.
We had some wonderful dinner visitors….. but, before I show you the photographs, I have to tell you that when we walked into the Lodge it brought tears to my eyes. It had the feel and smell of a South African Game Lodge. It was amazing. I spent many, many, many weeks in lodges like that in South Africa and those times are some of the memories that never leave me. So, well done to Disney – it really was well done!
Now… I supposed you would like to see some of our dinner mates:-) However, I was using my phone – and the lighting wasn't great… and I couldn't get a decent shot…. but I think you will recognize this guy:
This guy is harder to recognize…. and not seen that often…. they are Nyala
This guy is a Sable…. those horns are absolutely razor sharp:
I'm sorry I could't get any better shots. I suppose we shall just have to go back 🙂
I'll be back tomorrow with another post. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
