Queen for a Day

Hi Everyone.  Happy Monday.  I hope you all had a great weekend.

Very quick post for you tonight…. I realized half way through the day today – to my absolute horror – it was the 4th April.  Well, what's wrong with that, I can hear you ask?  Errrr….. I haven't done our taxes yet!  Nope.  Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhh! How on earth could I have missed that?  So, guess what I am doing tonight and tomorrow tonight?  Yep…..

I managed to make two cards this weekend.  Tonight's card uses the sketch across at cleanandsimplestamping.   Here's my take on the sketch:

Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

  • card stock:  Whisper White, Real Red
  • Stamps:  Artistic Etchings (crown), You're A Gem (sentiment)
  • Inks:  Copics
  • Accessories:  Basic Pearls
  • Tools:  Scoring board (three scored lines between the sentiment and the crowns).  I know they are tough to see, but they are there I promise you!  Stampin' Dimensionals.  Stamp-a-ma-jig (I couldn't have done this card without it!)

Normally, I would have cut out the crowns and mounted them.  But… with my finger still not being back to normal, cutting them out wasn't an option!  I still like them though.  I have always wondered what to do with this particular sentiment, and this sketch, with the crowns, seemed the perfect marriage.

  2. C & S and perfectly Jaydee! I didn’t see the pearls right away, so went back and looked for them–truly the perfect Jaydee touch. I cant’ wait to see what you do with this set when your finger is healed.

  4. I’m so sorry your finger is still bothering you. I have to say, though, that even though you would have cut out those crowns, the effect is still wonderful.
    Holy cow–get those taxes done, Girl! At least you didn’t realize this on oh, say, April *14th*. ;o) On a serious note, good luck with them.

  5. Wonderful CAS card! I would have never even thought to cut out the crowns – so I don’t blame you at all! Think it’s great just as is!

  6. This is awesome, Jaydee! I love the colorful crowns, never thought of that before. The sentiment is so perfect, too. I think I may have to honor you with a CASE on this one! I love it! Ugh, thanks for reminding me about the t-word…like you, I have procrastinated long enough! 🙂
