Well, I got to spend some quality time in my craft room today and was able to play along with a couple of challenges.
The first challenge was this great sketch across at Freshly Made
I love the three vertical elements and was originally tempted to use some of my new DSP but, as I was standing in front of my stamps wondering which ones to use… I had a brain wave and decided to use my stencil and some colored embossing paste instead!
I started by thumping (gently) my Crushed Curry ink pad onto my craft sheet. I then added a spoonful of the white embossing pasted and mixed it in with the Crushed Curry ink. Once it was blended, I placed the stencil on my card stock and masked off three vertical areas. I then applied the embossing paste, removed the stencil and did other things whilst I waited for it to dry and harden!
I took one of the symbol from the SU wooden elements and colored it with my crushed curry marker. I then stamped the face from the Ray of Sunshine set using StazOn ink. I stamped my sentiment onto Crushed Curry card stock and all I had to do was put the whole thing together 🙂

So, what do you think? I love the texture from the embossing paste – and I love that you can color it to whatever color you need for your card! I also love the way the face from the Ray of Sunshine set JUST fits into the circular wood element… and I love that you can color the wooden elements to match your color scheme, too!

On a personal note:
It was a glorious day here today. The sun was shining and it was mildly humid. Not too humid that Lou and I were put off spending a couple of hours sitting under the deck doing nothing other than…. well… sitting! We just sat there watching the birds flitter backwards and forwards. We watched Niles and Daphne wander through the woodland and across our wetland. We also saw a young groundhog… we are thinking it must have been one of Georgina's offspring, climb a fallen tree in the woodland. It was glorious! Oh…and Charlie was out in the screened in area playing chicken with a chipmunk. :-)

I really like your card and especially the stencil/embossing paste – you are so creative! I can’t bring myself to order that stamp set – somehow the face just creeps me out – but you have done some marvellous things with it! Just lovely.

That paste is amazing and you do know hot to use it. I could feel the warmth of the sun.
Two days ago we had an strong earthquake . . . thanks God . . . we are fine . . . four victims . . . two persons jumped through their windows and two heart attacks. . . . . compared to China we have been very lucky.

Your afternoon on the deck sounds divine. We spent yesterday traveling home from Blacksburg where we deposited Bitty for the week. We had fun, but I’m a bit road weary today. :oS

what a beautiful card(can feel the heat of the sun from here :} ) One of these days I’m just going have to make the time and do an embossed paste card.
