Renke Olive Branch for Paper Players #659

Happy Sunday.

It’s the fabulous Anne Marie’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s sketch week.  I went with a pretty clean and simple layout and tried to add interest with texture.

I love the texture from the Exposed Brick embossing folder from Stampin’ Up!  Somehow that texture just felt right with olives:-)

Here’s Anne Marie’s sketch:

It’s the perfect sketch to showcase some of the wonderful DSP you are all hoarding:-)  I know I was tempted to use some!

I embossed a piece of Neenah Solar White 80# card stock and then cut it into rectangles using an old die set that I swear I have had for a decade!  I glued those and mounted them to my card base.  I then die-cut the olive branches and ink blended them.  I adhered those to the card base and then die cut this fun stitched sentiment and added that over the branches.  The card came together pretty quickly.

Here’s my card:

As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

I’ll be back later with my very late Addicted to CAS card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Wow, Jaydee! The colors on the olive branch are spectacular, and look amazing against the embossing. What an absolutely stunning card! Have a wonderful week!

  2. Jaydee, I love the way you blended your colors on the olive branch die! The white embossed background works very well and sets off your blended ink olives beautifully. I have a soft spot for olives since it was my mother’s name.
    Xoxo, Fran

  3. Gorgeous card, Jaydee. That embossed white background really lets the olive branches shine. The ink blending adds so much interest to the leaves and olives.

  4. Jaydee, I just LOVE this card! The embossing adds so much texture and the white on white is gorgeous!!!!!!! I just love this olive branch, too! After going to Greece, I wonder if they will make oil or wine from these. LOL! Just fabulous! Have a grand weekend!

  5. Oooh Jaydee, this sure is stunning! I love your shading on the olives and the embossing really pops. The simple sentiment is the perfect touch, too. As always, you put the CAS in CAS, my friend!
