Rustic Wreath Botanicuts Mighty Oak for Paper Players 566

Happy Sunday

It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's theme week:

I decided it was a great excuse to bring out a relatively new set from The Greetery and pair it with an old die-cut set to make a wreath.  I also pulled out my Shiplap die from The Greetery to create the background.  I love the additional texture and interest it adds behind the wreath.

I began by stamping and die-cutting the wreath and then die-cutting the additional branches.  I die-cut all the other elements and colored the leaves and acorns and added them to the wreath.  I applied the pieces of the Shiplap to a vanilla base and added the sentiment.

Here's my card:
Botanicuts Oak (1 of 1)
I don't know about where you live, but our colors have been pretty wonderful this year despite the very unusually hot summer.  Some of the leaves had very little color, but the maples and oaks have been spectacular this year.  There really is something magical about the change of seasons from the bright colors of summer to the rich colors of autumn.  It's so beautiful.

On a personal note:

Well I got to spend a little time in my craft room yesterday catching up with the last of my design team commitments.  Because I haven't been crafting much, it really is taking so much longer to get into the swing of things and to get back into the groove.  Yesterday I made two cards that required coloring and it was only when I was doing that that I realized just how much I love it.  There is something so meditative carefully blending colors and watching things appear.  I need to remember to do it more often!

Life really has gotten in the way of my crafting recently and I am missing that special me time.  I'm hoping that things will get back into more of a regular cadence once the New Year comes around and I can start to make cards just for the fun of it and to play along with some challenges.  Oh.. and hopefully get out and capture some wildlife photos if the subjects appear in the daytime!

I'll be back later in the week with my Festive Friday card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs
Jaydee
