Happy Monday.
I did get into my crafting cave yesterday and managed to make a couple of cards. Tonight's card uses one of my old favorite sets – Seas the Day from Hero Arts. Here's the sketch from Case this Sketch
I stamped three elements – two of the seagull and one sea shell, colored them and then fussy cut them. I separated a stitched rectangle layer to give place for the sentiment. I adhered the two pieces together and stamped the tree stump directly onto the card base. I colored it with pencil instead of my Copic's so that the color wouldn't seep through. I added "waves" with the stamp from the set as an additional touch. Such an easy card to put together.
Here's my card:
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. But, before I go, let's take a look at what has been visiting the feeder. Not strictly at our bird feeder, but certainly feeding from the plants that we planted especially for them:-)
This guy has been a regular visitor to our garden the last couple of weeks. If you want to find out more about the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail – you can read about them here.
The black swallowtail has also been visiting us. However, it was windy yesterday and it was really hard to take a photograph of him. Not because he kept moving, but because the swamp milkweed did! You can read more about the Black Swallowtail here.
We were also visited by a Giant Swallowtail yesterday. I noticed how BIG he was and how differently he behaved to the other swallowtails. He didn't sit and feed, he hovered like a hummingbird. Sadly, I wasn't able to capture a photo of him before he disappeared. But, I do encourage you to check him out – he really is beautiful. He's almost double the size of the two swallowtails I have captured here. He has a wing span of over 6 inches! It wasn't until he had gone that I identified him and realized how rare they are in this area! You can find photos of them here.
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
