Sneak Peek – Moonlight Work of Art

Hi Everyone.

Happy Monday.  Hope you are all having a great start to your week.

I have another set of sneak peeks to share with you tonight.  The new Work of Art stamp set – love it!  With my favorite Moonlight DSP – and my favorite – all time ever – In Color – Blackberry Bliss.  Then, for those of you visiting my site because you like the wildlife pics – I have a couple of those for you, too!

I saw this great sketch across at cleanandsimplestamping.

Once I saw the sketch, I knew it would be a great sketch to showcase some of the new DSP.  I purchased three lots of DSP in the pre-order – Moonlight, Maritime and Lullaby.  My favorite – Moonlight…. because I'm totally in love with the two new In Colors – Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss.  The Moonlight DSP features the In Colors and some fabulous designs.

We get the Work of Art set as our present for attending the catalog pre-order party.  Great night, by the way!  We got it in wood and, as I don't buy wood stamps any more, I spent an hour yesterday converting it to clear and changing out the packaging.  It was so worth it.
Anyway, on to the card:
Work of art
I still have no idea why typepad is bringing in my photos and making them look as though they are out of focus.  I promise you, the photo is in focus!   Don't you just love this color, though!!!!?  I do.  It looks fabulous with Hello Honey.   Not my favorite In Color – it looks like a dirty, more grey, version of Crushed Curry.  But.. it does work well with Blackberry Bliss.

The background DSP and the vertical DSP are both from the Moonlight pack.  The horizontal sentiment layer is Hello Honey and I stamped it with four different stamps from the Work of Art set.
  • the waves
  • the heart
  • "just for"
  • "you"

I think this set might be one of my favorites from the catty.  I know I'm going to enjoy playing with it during the pre-order period.  I have to say, this catty is one of my favorite all time catty's from SU.  There are a lot of things on my list of "wants".

On a personal note:

Today was gorgeous.  It got to the high 50s… not quite the 90s that Colleen has been experiencing!  But warm enough that I could take a little break every hour or so and go spend a couple of minutes on the deck enjoying the warmth of the sun on my face and looking out at the wetland, which is starting to turn a little green!

I captured a couple of shots for you:

Turkeydeer1-2
Isn't that a cool shot?  It was only when I uploaded it that I noticed the Mallard flapping his wings in the background!

Proving the power of camoflauge…….  these two guys were pretty hard to spot!

Camouflage
Now…. when I was sitting in a conference call I saw a bright flash…. look who is back!   This photo is out of focus… sorry, I was rushing to get the shot before I had to talk on the phone!

Oriole
Once my call was over, I rushed out to the garage, got out the oriole feeder and filled it with jelly and oranges.  Hopefully he'll stick around.  It is wonderful to see them back!

As always, thank you to all of you for your visits – and your comments.   Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

  1. JEALOUS! That oriole is beautiful….and I finally placed my preorder for my goodies today! Pretty colors, and I love that watercolor set!

  2. Jaydee:
You sound (I read you) so enthusiastic with your surrounding .. . it’s contagious!! . . . I even felt my feet wet.
I do not have the beautiful material you do but I enjoy your art so much!!!
    Much love.
    Marina . . . from far Africa.

  3. love the colors of your beautiful card
Once again, thank you for the wonderful nature photos. That oriole is gorgeous perched up high in the tree.
Ok; how do you take your wooden stamps and convert it to clear?
Jaydee, I would take the cooler temperatures any day compared to these 90 plus temperatures that we’re having right now. When I get up early in the am it’s already over 70deg and the sun isn’t even up yet.

  4. I like your card! Blackberry Bliss looks like a great color! Youe photos are great. I like the reflecton of the deer and mallard in the water! I’m so glad spring is here and the snow is almost gone. Didn’t think it was ever going to happen.

  5. Blackberry Bliss I like. Hello Honey? I’m struggling with it, for the reasons you mentioned–it’s like a dingy-ish Crushed Curry. Maybe I’ll like it better IRL…
The card I DO like, though. :o)
Hooray for the return of the orioles! Love the deer and mallard, and camouflage is truly a wonderful thing, isn’t it? I took a photo of a bunny on the playground the other day, and even knowing where she was I had a difficult time finding her in the image. :o)
It’s supposed to hit the mid-80’s here by the end of the week. For now, it’s low-60’s. I’ll keep those, thanks. :oP
    Hugs!
    P.S. Hi Lou!

  6. The Blackberry Bliss is really pretty. It looks like it will go with a lot of colors! I agree the sun felt really good yesterday as I celebrated my birthday with Gavin. He is going to school half days now and may go back to full time next week! Yay! Isn’t good medical care a blessing? Thank you again to all who have left me messages.

  7. Hi Jaydee, Guess whose birthday is today? George Clooney & he’s 53 or 55! Just thought you might want to know LOL. I love seeing your cards but I really love seeing the wildlife in the wetlands and area.
