Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday….
yep…. you read that right, this is challenge number 1 for the brand new challenge site called Freshly Made Sketches. Lesley was kind enough to ask me to be the guest designer for the inaugural challenged and I was absolutely honored to say YES!
Lesley created this new challenge blog to celebrate clean lined cards. Now, that's not necessarily clean and simple – but a card with clean lines and not lots of frou frou (my words, not Lesley's!) I think it's a fabulous idea, and Lesley's first sketch is GORGEOUS. I really do hope that you will join us all this week and make the design team's first week a fabulous one. I know that there are many of you out there who appreciate clean lined cards – so… come join us!
Here's Lesley's fabulous sketch:
Isn't that fabulous? I told you it was! So, here's my take on it.
Yep, you can see I used Domestic Goddess DSP again…. I LOVE this DSP. I am also loving Pool Party as a color for Christmas cards.
I had seen a fabulous card made by the Artistic Avenger – this card and you can see the snow man is throwing snowballs…. I knew that I had to make a card with this fabulous snowman playing with snowballs, except I make them all icy and blingy! Of course, I had to add to the bling, with a little Dazzling Details around the rim of his hat, along the right hand side of his body and, of course, underfoot!
To add more shine, I stamped the snowman onto Glossy Cardstock using StazOn ink. Once it was dry, I colored the snowman with Going Gray and Pool Party markers. I then added some more Basic Rhinestones, which were colored using a Sharpie marker.
The ribbon you see at the bottom of the card is the fabulous new Velvet ribbon from the Holiday Mini. It's gorgeous!
Card details:
- Card stock: Glossy White, Pool Party
- Stamps: Snow Much Fun
- Inks: Pool Party, Going Gray, StazOn
- Accessories: Basic Rhinestones, Velvet Ribbon
- DSP: Domestic Goddess
- Tools: Snow Burst Embossing Folder (holiday mini), Big Shot. Dazzling Details. Stampin' Dimensionals
So, what do you think? I think its pretty… and I do love this cool, crisp, color scheme for Christmas…. how's that for a little alliteration!
Now, don't forget to pop along to check out Freshly Made Sketches and see what the design team has cooked up for you. Then, we do hope that you will join us in this, the inaugural challenge.
Hugs and prayers for those who need a little lift tonight and, as always, thank you so much for visiting my blog.

I agree, what a super cute card. Thanks so much for sharing and congrats on your Featured Designer . . . I know you will do great!
Jaydee,
What a fabulous card! I love the colors (you always make me think outside the box using a nontraditional color), the awesome snowballs, and sharpie colored buttons. You have done a wonderful job on this one! I’ve signed up for this new Freshly Made Sketches to see what it is all about. Congrats on being their first guest designer, such an honor!
What a great sketch- I will have to put the new site in to my favorites.
This is a wonderful card! Love all the special touches you put to make it a “Jaydee” card!
Super-duper cute, Jaydee! You are indeed the Queen of Clean!
This is such a fun card, love the colors.
Congratulations on being the first featured stamper!! I love how you used the rhinestones as snowballs!!!
So much fun! I love the idea of the snowballs. I’m just loving this dsp, after not being sure at first even though I do love anything with cooking. The pool party & coral are just so pretty. Have finally received my first pack, so can’t wait to get going with it.
This is so cute! I love the snowman and the way you’ve done the snowballs particularly. Love the glittery snow too!
