Hi Everyone.
It's our final Paper Players challenge of the year and the fabulous Claire has a very versatile color combo for us to work with this week.
Now, my first thought when I saw this color combo was FLORALS. However, I decided to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone. Sitting on my desk was a new stamp set that I arrived a couple of weeks ago. Mmmmm…. how was I going to color a collection of snowmen with these colors. Mmmmm….. what is the collective noun for a collection of snowmen?!!!! I'm going to pause this post and go check… apparently no definitive term – but the most used one, and one that I think is perfect…. a melt of snowmen!
I stamped the melt of snowmen onto a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and got to work with my Copics. I had such fun playing with the colors – thanks Claire – and this lovely little stamp.
Here's my card:
Aren't they gorgeous? I am never one to use non-traditional colors for Christmas – but I am in love with the colors! I cut a piece of My Minds Eye card stock to fir the base and popped up the focal point onto the base. I added some Nuvo crystal drops and some distress glitter to areas of the card for a little extra texture and shimmer and shine.
I hope you will play along with us on our final challenge of the year. This is also the last challenge where the very talented Deanne will be playing along with us. It has been an absolute privilege to have her gorgeous creations in the gallery each week and we will miss her. However, we are welcoming a new guest designer beginning with our first challenge in 2018.
If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the fabulous creations of our design team.
On a personal note:
Well, after a good few weeks of non-creating, it was lovely to get into my craft room and make a card yesterday. I will be back there today finishing off some Christmas cards. I'll be back tomorrow with another card for you. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
