Spellbinders Cozy Toes Friends for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #743

Happy Wednesday.

OK. So. Once again I have no idea why my mind works the way it does! I saw this great sketch across at Freshly Made this week and immediately thought leaves or flowers. Somehow, something switched in my brain and I saw a little smiling gremlin in my mind say… .no…. let’s do monster slippers! So, out came the Spellbinders Cozy Toes and Cozy Toes Friends dies and I mixed it with some patterned paper in my stash.

Don’t get me started on how cute these little monster slippers are, or why I decided to do Halloween colors! Well, the black DSP used for the pyjamas dictated the black and I just thought orange monsters would be cute!

Oh, and here’s the sketch from Freshly Made:

I began by die-cutting the slipper and pyjama elements. I backed the pyjamas with an extra layer of black card stock as I wanted the patterned paper to have a little more heft.

Instead of the die-cut eyes, I decided googly eyes were in order. I then checked around for some patterned paper that would go with the space themed PJs and found a great piece from La-La-Lands Travel collection. It has all sorts of sentiments like “explore the world”, and “let’s travel”. I thought the black and white wouldn’t distract the eye from the PJs and the sentiments fit the theme.

I then needed to find a circular element to match the sketch and remembered that I had some Circle Sentiments from Waffle Flower. They are meant to go with the Postal Collection, but I thought this sentiment was perfect.

OK, so you can’t tell me that isn’t cute?! It makes me want to squeal. Especially with those silly googly eyes!
