Oh… I had such fun creating tonight's card. I saw this great inspiration across at Time Out Challenges.
Here's the inspiration card:
I love the cluster of flowers draped around the corner and down the left side and the bold sentiment. I'd just received a new set of beautiful flowers from Penny Black that I realized was perfect for the challenge.
It took a while to create this card because I had to stamp each image individually. I began with the sunflowers at the bottom, stamped a mask… cut around the mask… and then laid the mast on top of the stamped flowers on my card. Once the mask was in place, I then stamped the next flowers. It took ages to get the layers and the masking complete…. but that then that allowed me to spend some quality time with my copic makers and listen to to Verid's Ernani on WQXR…. oh… what a perfect way to spend a couple of hours!
Here's my card:
The coloring was so relaxing and I think makes the images really pop from the page. I added some B000 and B0000 ink around the flowers, but did very little to the right of the flowers. I wanted to leave all of that wonderful white space to help highight the sentiment.
I cut the "hello" sentiment from the Hero Arts Hello Stamps and Cuts using Basic Black card stock. I die cut three of the "hello" sentiments and glued them together. I then took my Crystal Effects and decorated the top of the die cut hello with it and let it dry.
Before placing the "hello", I stamped the rest of the sentiment and the focal layer was ready to place onto the Soft Sky card base.
I was really happy with the finished card and, even though it took me ages to create the garden, I had such fun doing it! I hope you will pop along to Time Out and check out the fabulous design team and submission cards. Lot's of great inspiration for you.
On a personal note:
Well…. it was in the 30s today… then it rained… then it snowed… then we got frozen snow…. then it rained some more…. BUT… at least we were spared the really bad weather that has plagued so much of the country. I hope you are all safe and sound and were not affected by the storms.
One good thing about the rain….. we can see a few green things popping up and our Prairie Smoke even has a few flowers coming up! I'll take some photos to show you tomorrow. I'll also try to capture some shots of the visitors at our feeders.
I'll be back early on Saturday morning with my new Addicted to CAS card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

- Card stock: I always use X-press card stock with my Copic Markers. It's absolutely my preferred card stock with my copics. the card base is Stampin' Up! Soft Sky

All the work in making this card was well worth it cause it’s gorgeous. Love all the beautiful colors.
Can’t imagine that it’s 30 deg. there and having snow and we have been having 80 deg. temperatures and wearing shorts.
We did have a light shower of rain on Wed. In fact it started to rain right after we finished mowing the yard.

I really like how you kept the space between the flowers and added the soft highlights. That glossy sentiment adds dimension and texture. So pleased you joined us at Time Out x

This card is beyond the WOW factor. What a beautiful card. It was worth all the time you spent on it.

This is FABULOUS, Jaydee! I know what you mean about the masking. It took me a while to decide which flowers were in front and fussy cutting is not my thing. I do think it’s relaxing to color once the stamping is done. I have that PB stamp set so I may be CASEing your card in the near future. I just can’t say enough about it.
Wow Jaydee! This card is gorgeous…just stunning! What a pretty garden you’ve made!! I can’t imagine how long it took but the finished piece is a work of art for certain! Love how realistic the flowers look and the font on your hello. And snow, really, it’s time to go away now!!
