This week I was lucky enough to be a guest designer across at alacardmonkey. The thing I love about their challenges is not only do you get a sketch to follow – but also a theme! That makes it much easier for me to choose a stamp set!
Here's the sketch and challenge for this week:
Isn't that cool? A sketch for you and a theme of flowers….. Well, that was pretty easy for me. I am desperate to see some wildflowers again and that led me to a set I have had for ages and hardly use. Hero Arts Wildflower Garden.
I took out my Stampin' Up! markers and inked up the stamp. Here's what I came up with:
Because the image was fairly delicate, I decided to use pearls as the circular element instead of buttons. I added a few pearls across the flowers and on my sentiment, too. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is perfect for this image.
Card recipe:
- Stamps: Hero Arts Wildflower Garden. Sentiment: Vintage Picnic Sentiments, Papertrey Ink
- Inks: Elegant Eggplant, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Pretty in Pink, Wisteria Wonder – Stampin' Up!
- Accessories: Basic Pearls, Stampin' Up!
- Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant (plain and textured) – Stampin' Up!
- Tools: Scallop border punch – Stampin' Up! The "v" in the sentiment was made using the corner of my 1 1/2 square punch. Fiskars Easy Stamp Press.

This is such a soft and spring-y card. I love the image and the pearls are such a wonderful finishing touch. What an honor to be a guest designer! I think I may have to pop over and play along with this one. I’m trying oh so hard to get back in the swing of stamping…my mojo is hovering just out of reach. Gah!
