Thank you – Friends 24 7

Hi Everyone.  Happy Tuesday night.

For tonight's card I was inspired by three challenges!  That has to be a record for me.  The inspiraton challenge across at casestudy,  the color challenge from an old challenge at cr84fn – a new challenge site for me – and then the challenge across at the mashup – to use birds.  A combination I couldn't resist!

When I create cards, I really like to see if I can combine stamp sets where components match.  In this case, it was my favorite bird image from the Friends 24 7 set and the eggs (stamped in the background) from the Nature Walk set.  The egg stamp is actually all the eggs on one stamp.  I decided that really didn't work for me, so I cut up the eggs and mounted them separately on a block and stamped them onto the background card stock,

Normally I would have stamped the focal image onto Whisper White or Very Vanilla.  As the color challenge called for Crumb Cake, I decided to try a more muted approach.  As the casestudy challenge had a ribbon as a major element of the card I could not, of course, resist using the fabulous grosgrain ribbon.  Even though this ribbon is Riding Hood Red, it works really well with the Cherry Cobbler, and is available on the clearance rack!

After that whole intro – here is my card.

On a personal note…. another very long day today.  I started work at 7am and had lunch at 830pm… yep…lunch at 8.30pm!

Prayers tonight for Rose, Adelle, Vickie, Maria, Germaine.   Those affected by the floods in Australia and Brazil.

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Ahh, you work too hard! Another lovely card! I have never used the bird stamp in this set. Guess now is the time! I love the color combination especially the ribbon.

  2. Frankly I think we ought to be praying for you! You are working way too many hours. Seriously. This is a beautiful card. I have that set and really love it. Have used it several times.

  3. Oh, Jaydee, you SAID the first two weeks were a bear, but I didn’t realize just how bearish they were. :o( I hope once this initiation period is over you are able to get some good rest.
I love the layout of this card. The little bird is so sweet and I LOVE the big bow. :o) I’m glad to hear I’m not the only person who modifies their stamps when they don’t work for them.
You hang in there–I’m sure the end of the insanity MUST be in sight. Prayers for all.
    Hugs!

  4. I am awestruck that working those hours, you still find time to craft AND post! what an amazing person you are. And of course, it goes without saying, but I shall say it, what a beautiful card. The recipients of your work are lucky people indeed.

  5. A beautiful card Jaydee. love the layout and the ribbon! My goodness me, 13 hours from one meal to the next!! I would have been passing out from lack of food!! I think my hubby works long hours but a lot of your days are longer than his!! Now that his parttime work in the USA has abated for now, he does not spend so much time on the computer and phone conferencing! You will need another holday very soon Jaydee!! Take care now.
